Money Making Websites

I am thinking of making a website that could possibly generate income. I'm not expecting to make income over night. I love creating and building websites but i would love to create one that could generate a lot of income in the future.

However, i am just short of ideas and was hoping i could gain some fresh ideas here that i could possibly get started on.

Thanks.

    Hello Michael Co,

That is great that you want to start a website.

You kinda left this question wide open. There are many different types of websites you could set up.
    - Ecommerce
    - Blog
    - List Building
    - Viral

Can you add a little more information about what you had in mind. It would make it alot easier for people to assist.

I would be open to anything besides blogging. I love new challenges and i am just seeing what would be the best route to go down that could possibly pay off later on.

Literally any website taken seriously, with good content/idea and good team/owner behind will make money in the long term.

That's why you have to choose a niche you love, so you will never be bored working on your site.

Yeah, I'd analyze your strengths and utilize those to determine how you approach things. For example, if you're a good writer you may consider creating a blog and then using that to build an email list. If you're analytical, you may find it easier go the PPC -> Squeeze Page -> Sales funnel route with most of your content in your autoresponder.

Once you know what model you'd like to go after, you can then choose a niche that fits that model and go from there.

Market research . . . it's the best answer to your question.

Build money making sites in markets where there are people asking for specific products and services.

There are millions of possibilities as any market can produce sales if you understand the needs / wants / desires / problems / etc of the audience.

    Hi Michael,

Step 1: I'd reinforce comments already made to the effect that you need to go for a niche that you're passionate about.

Step 2: Make sure the niche you select is evergreen and monetizable (hint: you can pretty much monetize anything these days, e.g. lady made $5 million in 2014 from youtube ads revenue share, simply by playing with kids toys. You only see her hands! Didn't even need a website. Insane).

Step 3: Decide on the product/s you will use to monetize your niche. Your own product, an affiliate offer, or advertising space.

Step 4: Get a following by providing valuable content to your market. This can come in any form, e.g. blog, videos on Youtube, podcast, Facebook page, etc.

Step 5: Capture your following. e.g. get them to subscribe to your list, your Youtube channel, like your Facebook page, etc.

Step 6: Recommend that they buy your product or affiliate product.

Step 7: Keep doing steps 4 to 6.

    Hey Michel,
You have it all backwards. Make a Website of something that really knows a lot about and hopefully have some passion about.

You are starting out saying that you need to make income with a Site.

You need to look inwards first

    Hi Michael.,

Go with creating and building websites all of the way No brainer in my book. Because you love it, and feel passionate about it, and these passionate ventures are where the money is made. My developer just totally re-did my blog. I gave him design rights, on my blog and through my eBooks, and this opened the door for a flood of prospering opportunities for him to prosper through. I.e., paid business.

If you love it, work that craft inside out. Your skills will improve over time and you'll enjoy most of the ride. It'll be win win because as your skills improve you'll naturally connect with inspired, successful developers, learn from them, and then you'll naturally make money through your blog. Focus your attention on the developing, the website building, though. The money is there, now, for people who're really good at what they do and you'll become really good at what you do, if you love doing it, if you're detached as you work, and if you patiently keep on giving, creating and helping wherever you pop up.

I love writing. I blog. I create eBooks. Sure hasn't hurt me financially, or lifestyle wise

Congrats on doing the online thing now!

I agree with finding something you enjoy but you also said it needs to be something that can generate income.

So, whatever it is that you enjoy, make sure it's in a profitable niche. Conduct some market research on your topic. Is there any market demand for products in your niche. Does your niche solve a specific problem? Is there enough competition and traffic in your niche indicating people are searching for answers?

The last thing you want to do is write or outsource 300 articles over the next year and have $54.00 in revenue for the entire year to show for all that hard work. That can easily happen with a non-competitive niche.

Thus, we trust you will enjoy them as well (by the way, you can find all of them, by the way you can find all of them, by placing all of their titles on the search marketplace box of https://warriorplus.com/wso/):-

Since it seems like you're just getting started, without hopefully completely restating anything that was already shared above, here's what I would recommend:

If you have a hobby or something you are passionate and very knowledgeable about that you regularly and without any second thoughts spend you're hard earned money on - and you know there are many people just like you, build a site around that.

Tell your story, share your knowledge and experience, talk about (and recommend when appropriate) everything you've purchased relating to this hobby or passion, find out where your audience can buy these products where you can get paid a commission for sharing it, and make sure you link to everything with your affiliate link.

Don't just stop at the website.

Utilize the power of social media too.

Start a facebook page, a youtube channel (if its something you can make videos about to show and tell), and a pinterest page (same reason) and use all of that to share your content as well.

Sounds like a lot, but once you get the hang of things, it will get real easy and you will have built a solid foundation in one of many money getting methods on the internet - so much so that you will be able to rinse and repeat as often as you like.

#1 Set up a sales funnel

#2 Drive some targeted traffic to it

    #3 Analyze your results

    #4 Make adjustments

    #5 Drive more targeted traffic

    #6 Repeat steps #3, 4 & 5.

I think the biggest thing is to not allow yourself to get overwhelmed. Follow the outline above, one step at a time.Do not worry about perfecting each step. Don't get caught up in the hype of making something easier. Just go through the outline one step at a time.

    1. Do I have a niche? Check
    2. Is it something that someone will always be interested in? Check
    3. ETC.

    1. IMHO creating websites based on ideas from other marketers isn't a good idea. Just because I have experience in the Dog Training niche doesn't mean you'll benefit from that niche. Every niche has a learning curve and its best to start with something you already have a passion for - that will make the learning process less boring.

    2. Don't try to create a "money making" site. Focus on offering quality and reaching out to people - the two basics of IM (product and traffic)... the money will follow.

    Best of luck.

A great site with valuable content will attract a responsive audience.

I would recommend a list building website to promote you products to a large list of dedicated followers if what you have to offer is valuable.

You can also try ecommerce and freelancing websites which can make great money if you have spare time.

Any type of website can be monetized. You just need to pick something you like. So you said no blogging, that's a start, going by elimination.
You could start monetizing with ads, then when traffic picks up, you could explore affiliate marketing or selling your own products.

What can you offer people (product/service)?

Without an offer, a website is pointless.

I think that authority websites are a good option. These are practically blogs that don't stop growing. If in the past you would have niche sites with 10 posts and leave them on autopilot, you won't stop creating new content for your authority website.

At the moment I'm trying an authority website with Amazon products, and I'm going to create a newsletter and a product that I will eventually sell. I will also post at least 2-3 blogs per week. This seems to be a good model. (Actually I saw the idea from Spencer Haws, creator of Long Tail Pro)

Carry on.... Of course it is a good idea. Firstly you need to buy domain & hosting, then you should write unique & good content. After completing these steps, you can do some SEO to increase your site traffic, Page Rank & Alexa rank. Then you can do affiliate marketing, Adsense, advertisement even you can sell of your own product, if you have.
