Default Digg just hijacked your Twitter Links!

Digg has changed the location of it's URL shortener. It no longer directs click-troughs to your content but redirects it to a Digg Landing Page. This has been confirmed by a reply from Digg Support to Social News Watch Blogger JD Rucker. If your driving traffic from Twitter to your site it would be best to use another shortener then Digg's. More outrageous behavior from the company who rather than show your website from a Dugg piece decided to show it in an iframe. Unfortunately the Digg Toolbar hijack increased their traffic and I guess if you're Digg that's all that matters.

Digg is intentionally diverting traffic away from publisher sites. Many Twitter applications added Digg URL support on the assumption that Digg URLs would work the same way as Bit.ly, TinyURL and dozen of others. They're shameless to the core.

If you've used Digg's shortener in the past just a quick note to let you know the Old Links redirect as well.
