Chrome is getting on my nerves

This is about the fifth time its happened. I compose something in a forum, having not saved or posted yet, then I go to another tab to look up something. When I go to return I accidently hit the x on the tab instead of the tab itself and my window disappears without a complaint.

I just lost a nice post I was composing with no way to get it back. ARRRRRRRRRRRG

At least in the other browsers you have to have the tab open to kill it.

I love Chrome. Use it all the time. From the day it came out it replaced my other browsers completely except where specialized plug-ins are used. And I'm with you 100%. I hate that feature. Plus, I use laptops a lot, and I have the trackpad configured so you can just tap it and get the same effect as a left click. So it happens to me a lot too. Not loving that feature.

Nope, you can easily close a tab in Firefox without having it open.

Chrome is really unstable for putting anything onto the internet. It's great for getting information out of the internet, ie. browsing, but the moment I have to use a form or anything like that I switch to Firefox.

It's still so buggy, which is a shame given how fast and smooth it is to browse with.

I stopped using it sometime ago. I use FireFox and a new browser that is even faster-CometBird. It works awesome, especially on laptops with slow wireless connections, like mine!

Oooh, we must download that and give it a spin

    Downloading now.

    Looks like its Mozilla based?

Why don't you compose in Notepad and then all you have to do is copy and paste it into your forum or blog? That way you can have all your research done before posting and you wont have to worry about it. That is how I do all my blog posts.

Chrome is Mozilla based too. You can reopen a closed tab with Ctrl+Shift+T.

I've been using FF for years and never knew that. It would have saved me a lot of swearing a few times in the past. Thanks for the info.

I would just keep it simple (KISS rule) and stick to FireFox.

I used Chrome a LOT for several months. Eventually I switched
to Seamonkey, which is a simplified Mozilla browser with integrated
email management and HTML editor. Not a resource-hog either.

Uninstalling Chrome completely is a hassle. It is invasive.

I mostly liked it but was looking for something more versatile
for what I needed to do on a daily basis.

Chrome is the ONLY browser that did/does not lock up my system. So I can live with its flaws.

Google Chrome is a browser that combines a minimal design with sophisticated technology to make the web faster, safer, and easier

Even then there are any prblem then data should be copied some where else first.

I checked out CometBird. It's a nice browser and I like the in built video downloader. On my system though it didn't run as fast as Chrome sadly.

As a hard core internet junky I'm still gonna stick with Chrome for the valuable second or so it saves me on each individual page load.

It also allows faster scrolling up and down the page, which I like.

For those of you that might think that a lot of people are using Chrome - my sites Awstats show that .01% of the vistors are using it.

I had that same thing happen after I composed a message to my list in GetResponse. Apparently, my "log in" time had expired. It said there was some sort of "saved" document available but I could not, for the life of me, figure out how to find it. Had to type the entire thing over again.

If that happens to you it means chrome don't have the responsibility for that case because it is your own fault.
