What type of content to publish when promoting an affiliate product?

Say I am promoting a book on the best way way to parent kids. What would my blog post be about so I don't give the information out for free? Obviously I don't want to just post sales letters as my blog post, so what would should I talk about?

    Have you read the book you are promoting yet? If so you should write an honest review on what you thought of the book with pros and cons and a strong call to action.

    Product reviews is probably the best way to encourage visitors to buy a product because they are obviously interesting in finding out more about the product if they decide to pay for it.

    Here's a great video for how to quickly write a professional product review that you should find very useful.

      I understand I can do that, but that's only 1 blog post. I was hoping to write more than just a review.

    This should be easy enough. You can search to find what your competitors post on their websites for ideas or you can enter the keyword "best way to parent kids" into google keyword tool and write articles from related keywords.

    Also head over to pinterest and enter your keywords into the search and you will find tons of pins linking back to articles with your keywords.

    I just entered your keyword "best way to parent kids" into google and found ton of article topics you could easily write about such as:

    Top 10 Ways to be an Even Better Parent
    10 Scientific Tips For Raising Happy Kids
    How to Discipline Young Kids Effectively
    Nine Steps to More Effective Parenting
    12 Parenting Strategies That Work

    Youtube is also a great resource. I'm sure if you enter your keywords into the search you will find lots of videos about this niche that will spark ideas on what to write about.
