Dear warriors,

I just started my career on article marketing this month. so today it's already 20 days with this result :

- 12 Live articles submitted on EzineArticles only
- 2,525 Views (is there any way to track where this reader come from?)
- 87 URL Clicks
- 100 Profile views
- 9 of 12 articles appears on first page of Google and Yahoo

is it good start? or am I far away from success in Article Marketing?

Thanks!

It's a good amount of article views, but your clickthrough rate could be better. You should be looking to get at least 20%, at the moment you only have 3.4%.

However, this might only be a matter of making you resource box more clickable. Put something in your resource box that makes them want to find out more, or if the product offers something for free, state this and make it part of your article.

Does your article talk about what it says in the title?. If you go off on a tangent, the reader might just click away.

It's definitely a good start. The most important thing is: you take action and actually DO something.

The CTR is very low, though.

Most likely, your resource box is not appealing enough.

My tip to improve this would be to make your resource box look like being a part of your article. So, instead of writing "Peter Watson is an expert and for more info click here", continue your article in the resource box. Remind the reader of his pain/desire and that the best solution is just one click away.

In the resource box, you can be more promotional than in the article body.

      Hope that helps.

I think your resource box tip is just what I needed. Thanks

Yes, I think I made a mistake. I try to close the sale immediately by sending the reader directly to the sales letter, not giving them something FREE to try first. I will make an opt-in page and follow-up messages. thanks for the enlightenment ;-)

  • You need to work on getting that clickthrough percentage up. Something is wrong. Either your articles arent readable, arent engaging, or your resource box doesnt flow.

I would work on that first. You need to figure these things out before you write more articles incorrectly.

I am not sure I understand why you are concerned about these statistics. I have only ever used distributed articles as a way to build back links over a long period of time. And have never found them to be a good source of traffic.

Honestly, when I see a niche where article directory articles are ranking well it tells me that the niche is not very competitive and would be easy to rank for.

In my opinion you shjould be going after these niches directly, instead of allowing the article directories to get the traffic.

Aside from the comments on the click-through rate - which is low - your main challenge will be keeping the articles ranked high enough after Google fully index them.

Some people just keep adding articles, others prefer to add only a few and keep them ranked.

Both are valid but I choose the latter so you can focus on the best money keywords.
