Default Creating a PDf from microsoft word - Help?

Hi Warriors,

I had this probelm for a long time just never
got round to finding out how to fix it.

When I create a PDF from a word doc, when
I open the PDF the hyper links don't work.

I've attached both the word doc and the PDF.

Can some kind person please tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks

Craig

Hi Craig,

I opened your doc in Word 2007 i have here, and save to pdf,
and links are working fine here.

Also i checked that you have http:// to every link that is it should work...
maybe the problem is with your pdf print driver....

Hi Craig,

Getting hyperlinks would depend on the pdf converter you're using. Go to: PDF Converter, Convert to PDF Online Free, Document to PDF Conversion Service and see if the problem persists. I use that as well as PrimoPDF and my hyperlinks come out just fine.

Cheers

Kunle

Is Word creating the PDF itself or are you using a third party PDF printer? Many third party printers don't do active hyperlinks.

I use the Open Office Writer to create my PDFs. Just did your Word file in Open Office and the links work perfectly (see attached), so nothing wrong with the Word document.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for replying.

I'm using warrior PDF to create the PDF's.

I have the same problem if I use PDF995.

What's the best PDf tool to use?

Craig

I got the PDF printer from here:

http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...-printing.html

Does it not work on the hyper links for everyone or just me?

Thanks

Craig

I have the same problem. I typed a entire e-book in MS Word 2003 and converted using Nitro PDF. The links cannot be clicked on.

Would I be able to open my MS Word document in Open Office no problem?

Yes, OpenOffice is 100 times better than MicroShaft Office, and compatibility is just one reason.

Just to throw something out there...

Are you saying the links are not clickable
or
can they be clicked but they don't open up the linked page?

Awhile back I posted about links not working in pdf's only to find I needed to restart my laptop.

Hey,

I had this problem too. I purchased adobe pro so all my PDF documents would be able to link to both external and internal areas.

Thanks,

George

What I liked about Nitro PDF was it gave you options

- Disable printing on the PDF
- Disable copying text from the PDF

Does OpenOffice feature the above two?

If not, can someone please state a PDF program which does?

Thanks
