Affiliate marketing newbie question

I have an 10 page ebook that I am giving away free because I am promoting an affiliate program through links in the book and I have a dilemma. Should I make a squeeze page where when someone enters their email address I send them a copy of the book(building a list) or turn the eBook into a blog and have affiliate links and banners in the blog. But also with the blog I would still put the eBook on platforms where people can download it. Thanks

    Squeeze and get the email list and then turn your book into a blog that requires a pw to access that they get in their email.

    Either way may create results, depending on the quality of the content...

    But beware of this:

    -----> "should I do this, or should I do that" <----This is part of the curse of IM information overload. These days, we are overwhelmed by choice and we could spend days, months, even years stuck in "should I do this or should I do that" mode and never actually get anything done, I've seen it happen (to myself, actually).

    Don't get me wrong, seeking help is important. But there's a fine line.

    Sorry if that wasn't the answer you are looking for, there will certainly be many answers under my post.

        Well? Have you started yet?
        I'd do both, it will take more effort, building just a list or just a blog means making an effort but definitely do both. Andre's advice is pretty much what you should do.

      Build a list . Remember if you give away the ebook free it will be a free seeker list . It will be harder to sell to them . Why not charge a small fee like $1 or even $5 . Also remember a email list is for life!

    I would definitely build a list. With a blog people may visit and never visit again. Rather with a list you have got them forever (unless they unsubscribe) then when you have a list build a blog put some social sharing plugins on and get your list to visit blog and share your blog. You can do this by writing informative posts. Before 2012 a lot of people lost their businesses due to google so list building is a safer option.

    Both, you should first start the blog and give value. Leave the idea to turn a 10 page ebook in a blog instead write a good blog focusing on your knowledge, and give away the ebook to build a list, inside the blog and also with squeeze page.

    Hi JB,

    Collect those emails! I figure most Warriors would advise this as emails are gold, and once you get into someone's inbox and offer something of value you endear yourself to folks. Give that eBook away for free and collect email addresses to build long term, profitable bonds to make things happen. If you want to, you can create new blog posts and a blog to accompany the eBook. Awesome trust builder. Great authority building agent too, but in the end, I find it easy to give something useful and helpful away for free and then, collect email addresses to make friends.

    That's it. Making friends. Not numbers on a list of other ideas, this list building bit. You're just collecting emails to form bonds with folks who want what you have to offer, and over time you will form more intimate bonds with your subscribers, and then the good old prospering happens. Think about that blog idea too; helps you stand out from the crowd in your niche.

    I would consider doing both. The blog content could drive users to your site, and then you could build your list by encouraging users to sign up for the e-book within your blog.

      Getting subscribers is difficult task. Building a huge email list would take a lot of time.

      Does people buy lists ? I have no idea regarding lists. Could you let me know

    Do both. A good idea is to continue your plan with your blog and also share your book through different hosting sites and promote it on forums in the related topics.

    10 Page ebook? Is it very good? Would if be perceived as very valuable? If so, why not get other affiliates to sell it and let them build the blogs and lists?

    OR,

    If you really want to sell affiliate products, I would give it as a FREEBIE to get 'targeted' email leads. You can still build your blog around this ebook and still offer the ebook to get email leads.

    I would use your ebook to get people on an email list (use it as an "email optin bribe"). All of your marketing should be centered around building a list of people that know,like and trust you. Another thing,from my experience the best place to put an optin bribe is on a popup. The worst place to put one is on your blog's right sidebar above the fold.

    2.) Provide valuable information.

    3.) Promote offer.

    It's simple, you are are in the business of providing a solutions and showing your expertise.

    Study your niche in and out and figure out how you can solve your prospects problems.

    1. The money is in the LIST.
    2. If you're giving it away for free, then use the content in your blog as well.
    3. Create a blog with a BIG optin form on the frontpage.

    You should build a list first and develop good relationship with your subscribers before any affiliate promotion.

    1) Set up a squeeze page to give away your 10 page ebook.

    2) Make sure you create a killer headline and list down all the benefits in bullets.
