Headset for Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10 Standard?

I just ordered Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10 Standard version.

Two questions for those that might know:

1. How good (or bad?) is the headset that comes with the Standard version?
Is it "good enough", or is there a big improvement accuracy-wise with a different headset?

2. If a different headset is recommended, which one do you personally suggest?

    I stopped using a microphone headset and now use my Blue SnoBall USB microphone as it gets excellent recording voice quality. I can then use any headphones to cut out speaker echo/feedback (as needed) when on calls, webinars, etc... The Blue SnoBall mic is less than $80. Well worth it!

      I just purchased the DNS 10 Pref. and never used the mike that came with it .. I got the 30 buck Daktronics mike and it works real well.

      Because the set that comes with DNS is sub par compared to what you could get for a reasonable sum IMO.

          I use the headset that came with my copy and I don't have trouble with it. When it fumbles a word I just train it then.

          Even though I type fast, I find it much easier to use Dragon.

            Is there such a thing as a headset microphone that does not have earphones. The reason is that I don't like things inside my ears and conventional headphones get my ears too warm after a while. Just a good quality boom microphone without earpieces.

              WARNING! Don't buy the Microsoft ZD-6000 microphone. I just got it and it's terrible!

              Both the broadcast audio and recording audio are plagued with static. Like 80's AM radio bad. I should have read reviews before buying this POS as I would have been been warned.

    King in my book: Sennheiser...the quality is just amazing. They test all their products in Air control towers and call centers and stuff...so you know that they have been tested hard.

    the SH200 models work superbly for any type of voice recording or conferences.

    Hi,

    I just bought DNS 10 and use the headset that came with it. Works fine. I do just like Lynne said, if it misses something I 'train' it to remember. I love it.

    The thing to remember is you aren't recording an audio, only speaking to have text typed. I use a better set for audios and voice chat.

    Try it before you buy something else.

    I bought an expensive dektop mic and switched back to my headset. The distance you speak away from the microsphone makes a big difference, so in my opinion using a headset where the mic is in a fixed position a set distance from your mounth is best.

    Hi,

    I just got DNS 10 prefered, the headset that comes with it is fine, however ,as Marian Bergues says above, Sennheiser headset are just amazing , I have an old beat up one that I bought 10 years ago and sound is still brilliant, none of that
    "oh! I can only hear the sound in one headphone unless i turn and twist the cables " that you get after a while with cheaper headsets...

    I use a normal 20 Euro headset for that - works perfectly. The software is good, if you train it correctly and got some experience with it

      I used the headset that came with Dragon 9.0. Sound quality was fine for voice recognition... until the microphone on it broke after a couple of months.

      I'm using a Plantronics headset that's much better.

    I hated the headset that came with it. I bought a usb microphone to use with it and now it works just fine. Plus the headset was to small to fit around my head.

    LOL I use some cheapo Logitech from WalMart...

    Thing never screws up in DNS...Thing even has bad reviews on Logitech's site...but stupid thing sounds crystal clear and works awesome with DNS so I dunno what the people reviewing it had issues with heh. Thing was $20 I think...Best one I have ever owned for DNS. I've had a wireless one, couple other logitechs, a Microsoft one, and a plantronics...this one beat the crap out of all of the others ones I had. Two that I used with DNS before were USB...neither worked well at all.
