Some of these companies even pay commissions up to 95%. At the same time, there are certain challenges faced in affiliate marketing today. Some of these challenges involve:

Getting paid: The problem of getting paid has caused a lot of challenges for most affiliate marketers nowadays. Frustrations by many affiliate companies and their refusal to pay out as at when due have discouraged most affiliate marketers. Because of the problem of getting paid, it's advisable to join affiliate companies like clickbank, commission junction, ebay affiliate network and amazon affiliate central that can never default in getting you paid for your efforts.

Traffic is one of those serious challenges faced by most affiliate marketers. The secret of the successful affiliate marketers today is traffic. You haven't mentioned anything new here. Whatever you have mentioned is just the basics. My suggestion would be to choose an affiliate program based on their product or service quality. If the customers of a particular product/service are happy then you can close your eyes and become an affiliate.

Most hosting affiliate programs offer $100 per sign up but its not worth it. I would rather stick to the one which records each and every sale and pays its affiliates on time.

I know affiliate programs which pay 100% or 200% and those programs really pay. The reason why the commission is so high is because companies believe in their products' retention power!

I would say that affiliate network will save you from being scammed. Take the time to join programs you trust and are familiar with. Then, try to drive traffic that convert with buy-intent keyword and niche community traffic.

I don't fully agree with your statement "because companies believe in their products' retention power!" . Do you think iPage hosting is worth it? They are one of the worst hosting providers and yet they pay huge commission.

    Hello Homebuz,

An answer to your question: What's working now for passive income?

An optimized sales funnel offering three to five related products including a recurring income product.

You can create such a funnel for any niche market and it will work because every lead going through that funnel will be presented with a number of products of interest to generate at least one sale. And about 50% of customers buying one item would buy a second product.

Such a sales funnel will generate enough sales to pay for the cost of getting those sales.

A word on driving traffic: solo ads offering guaranteed clicks are working well and consistently in the IM niche market. However its important to identify your income goal and paid ads budget if you are going to make a profit.

For example if you want to earn $1,000 a month your paid ads budget should not be more than $500 if you can afford that. That $500 however should get you the required number of new customers to generate your $1,000 in sales.

If you do not get the number of new customers you need through paid advertising, you will need to use blog traffic strategies to make up the rest. Those strategies may not cost money but you have to put in the time for them to work.

As time goes by, the recurring income product sales will grow and be maintained, as long as customers are getting value for their money. That is where your passive income comes in.

    Hope that helps.

    LB.

The best way is to focus on high converting products that most people need or want badly and also charges recurring fees?

Let me give you 3 examples.

    1. Autoresponder like Aweber and Getresponse

    2. Web Hosting Accounts like Hostgator and Bluehost and

    3. Wordpress themes like what you see at ThemeForest sites.

If you can build a one-stop resource site for internet marketers providing free valuable information like what email marketing is and why is it so important, advantages of having your own domain and hosting etc as well as making product recommendations on what i just mentioned, you could be on your way to making a great passive income.

Although I cannot legally promise you can make millions or even thousands in a month, you should gradually if you keep doing these.

Besides internet marketing resources, health, personal development and holiday vacations are other niches you might consider going into.

If you're going to bother putting a site together, you should, at the very least, get one that's self-hosted (buy a domain name and hosting), so that you can control the content -- rather than using a free one. Niche blogging is one way to generate passive income, but you can also do things like sell your own products/publish to Kindle or have your own PLR store - lots of people who really enjoy writing seem to prefer the latter two.
