Is There Any Way To Make Money By Creating Simple Windows Software?

I am just wondering if anyone here got an idea on how to make money by creating simple software. I know we can make huge by creating amazing software, but I am not talking about that. What I am talking about here is software with very little functionality, almost nothing, and there are already many software with similar functions out there.

    Sometimes the best software idea comes from something that already exists. I don't mean 'copying' what already exists but taking that 'idea' and improving on it.

    I also hate having to download software especially one that is limited to Windows. I have a Mac as do many more people these days. If you're going to create software, make it a Web App so EVERYONE can use it instead of limiting it to a niche of users.

    There's demand if you get the software right.

    Sites like Download.com show you what other people are creating.

    Sometimes a precise tool is better than a Swiss Army Knife - it depends on your potential market.

    You can please Mac users by not excluding them if you use a platform like Adobe Air. Or you can do like most software creators and ignore them. It's your choice and will depend to an extent on the program itself - a Windows utility wouldn't be much use to an Apple owner.

    Then you need to decide whether it's freeware with an upgrade option to more features - that's the route a lot of apps take for mobile phones.

    Or whether it's paid for with or without a free trial.

    Lots of options. Lots of different markets. At least some of them will prefer a local program rather than being at the mercy of an internet connection.

    My bro made his first 6 figure income with a software that managed multiple twitter accounts. It allowed you to schedule tweets among as many accounts you want which was GREAT for contracted social media manager which sometimes works for 10 or more companies at a time.

    I even helped him with clients. As I knew some social media managers in the gaming niche to get him started.

    Do you mean like the Software you're showcasing in your sig???

    Try getting a WSO or Classified Ad and doing it "right"

      of course that is not a Windows software like what I mean.

      I am sorry, what I mean here is an awful software, very simple software, which is only doing like a splash screen or just displaying a "Hi" text, nothing fancy or even useful for the world, just a little fun (not a game) or can be disturbin'!

        If you have enough users, you can add in app ads. In app ads will make sure your revenue.

    If it is as simple as you say then probably many people would feel cheated paying for it...

    I'd offer it for free and add a few ppi (pay per install) offers in it.

    It works like cpa and you'd make about $1.20 for top tier installs.

    Or if it would be popular content lock the download page.

      I think PPI isn't a good idea, it hurts users, because those kind of installs are usually give what users do not want!
