Hi there, Want to set up a blog, Do you just write general info about your niche on here, or for each post do you post a mini version of one of your articles with a link to the full version, which then I guess is a good backlink to ezine or similar. If the same info is on blog and article would this then be duplicate content? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks |

I put a little horse raddish on mine, goes down a treat! Seriously though. Find out what your customers want and give it to them. Look at well established blogs in the same niche to see what they are doing. |

Definitely give what people want. Check Yahoo answers and see what they ask about your niche, Youtube videos, Ezine Articles top articles etc etc And you can always give some fillers every now and then... |

You can post off the top of your head on a particular topic. You can summarize a section in an ebook you are selling, or an article. You can even syndicate other blogs and rss feeds as posts on your own blog. (There are plugins that will do this for you automatically, and settings that allow you to control the process.) As for duplicate content, I wouldn't copy and paste anything. It's better for you and your readers if you write in a unique voice and point of view. Of course that doesn't apply for syndicated posts, but you should have unique posts or at least a unique combination of syndicated posts. You're supposed to offer a service, not contribute to information overload. Check out popular blogs already in your niche to see what they do. Learn from people who are already getting it right. |

I know it may sound tedious, but if you want to take the blog serious, produce fresh unique content to it 2-3 times a week to start off with. Thats what I would suggest.

Do keyword research (you should have done this already) to determine what people are searching for then write blog posts that are based on those keywords. One post per keyword unless they are closely related, then include both in the same post. Include in your posts other keywords that semantically "relate" to the main keyword. These keywords help to establish the post's relevancy and will improve your post's ranking in the SERPs. Include your main keyword a few times within the post without spamming it. It should read well and make sense above all. Include timely filler posts related to your niche that people would be interested in reading. It's my understanding that Duplicate content is a myth that shouldn't be taken too seriously. That being said, I write the main article for my blog then rewrite it for the article directories using a strategy that leaves the reader wanting more, then I send them to my site for "more". Cheers, | |

***I put a little horse raddish on mine, goes down a treat!*** Had to comment...H I L A R I O U S !!!! I have many, many blogs. I write original content about the niche topic. For example, I have a personal finance blog where I write about debt, frugal topics and bank bonuses. Hope that helps. |

Being a writer and the author to a lot of blog posts, I think it is very very important to know your target audience and understand what they like and want to read!! merely rewriting some facts does not help you keep your readers stuck to your blog or come back! You really need to know what they like and want to read!
