One of my articles went viral, but...

Hello warriors!

My recently launched website (in Jan 2015), reached a "staggering" amount of 24 articles published. I want my website to be a real authority in the industry (health) and my articles are of good quality, at least so I think....

So, what happened?
- a couple of days ago one of my articles, a 1,400 word one, became viral, on a small scale, got 154 facebook shares and brought me hundreds of visitors
- I don't promote my website on facebook at all, I only have an inactive facebook page
- currently I have a handful of clicks from organic search daily, with no backlinking or SEO

- the PROBLEM that I am facing is the HUGE bounce rate for the facebook visitors - approximately 78%. Is this something I need to worry about? I mean, if users shared my content and obviously liked it, how come the huge bounce rate?

Thanks!, tziahs

Evidently you aren't linking to other parts of your site with enough dazzle to gain those extra click-thrus, so they're reading the one article and going back to Facebook. On such a small scale it's not a big problem though and it's good that you learned this lesson early. Give people reasons to transition from one page of your site to the next.

    Hello tziahs,

What AntonioSeegars1 said is true, social media traffic hate words but love images and videos.

You should try to cut your articles into smaller pieces (around 200 words), at the end of each articles, point them to the next section of your articles.

    Example :
Title : 10 Beneficial fruits for losing weight
Page 1 : Talk about general benefit of fruits....at the end of the page: 1. Green Apple (hyperlinking to the next page)
Page 2 : 1. Green Apple .......at the end of the page: 2. lemon (hyperlinking to the next page)
    and so on.

Try to put images/videos too. SosMed Traffic love provacative images/videos, and funny images/videos.

There is a word press plugin called zero bounce, it is supposed to decrease the bounce rate.

    Well, happy blogging mate.

It can't be a problem because you did nothing shady, you just made a great article that people wanted to visit and share. Don't worry.
