"Ghost" Hops On Clickbank

As a matter of practice, I will ALWAYS add tracking IDs to all Clickbank hoplinks I generate for use on my sites. Despite this, I occasionally get hops categorized as "no tracking code" in my CB analysis reports. How is this possible? Where do these phantom hops come from??

    I get that sometimes too. But for my case it may be because I forgot to include the tid in my affiliate links or my redirects. Maybe you have some redirects that do not have tid?

    This is for your own products, right? Two possibilities come to mind. Could be someone checking you out through Clickbank Marketplace (or posting an affiliate link they got from there). Or a few of them could even be the occasional commission pirate coming in on a DIY hoplink.

      I've had 18 "ghost" hops today as well. I've only noticed it over the last couple of weeks.

      I definitely have a TID on 100% of my links as well.

      I don't really know what to make of it.

        Where do you get your Tracking ID from, say I wanted to track the amount of people that come in through my link, how do I do that

    Maybe you guys are getting my hops. I can see that they're being made because they re-direct through my own script, but Clickbank's count and my count never match up -- theirs is always lower.

    I'd love to get the "bank error in your favor -- collect $100" card just once in my cursed life.

      I get the same thing. I thought maybe I missed to add the tracking to a link but now I am sure it's not that.

      Just go to the product you want to promote on CB's marketplace, click "create hoplink". You'll be asked to fill in your CB ID and any tracking code you wish of your choice.

      So eg I want to know that a click I'm getting is from my website so I might put in a tracking code like "web". This will appear in your CB report whenever anyone clicks on the hoplink you create that has this code. Try it!

    ?TID=yourtracking_code


    Just ad something like that to your hoplinks. Swap out yourtracking_code with your own up to 24 character tracking ID (TID).
