Email Marketing 1-2-3 Power System - Can you please help me...

Hello everyone!

Am a beginner in internet marketing and I have been trying to market the 1-2-3 Power System for the past few weeks now. It was recommended to me few months ago by a person whom I trust. In spite of my current financial condition, I did everything to secure a copy of the 123PS Manual and have my website and lead capture page set up.


One of the advertising media recommended in the 123PS is Email Marketing and there are recommended companies listed in the Manual. I ordered for 1M email broadcasting to USA-based business opportunity from one of those recommended companies. During the first run, around 800 recipients opened my email. But no opt-in and sale. That’s surprising because I could get opt-ins from traffic exchange, safelist and classifieds. (The creator of the 123PS says in the Manual that he could get at least 6 orders from 25,000 to 100,000 email blast.)


The company re-run the campaign and the number of recipients who opened my email even lowered the second time around!


As I’ve said, am a beginner and I would like to understand what’s happening. Am sharing this for the guidance of similarly-situated aspiring marketers like me.

Sorry man, you got screwed. That form of email
marketing (bizop spamming) doesn't tend to work anymore.

In my opinion the person who told you it does is
probably lying to you about the effectiveness of the
method in order to preserve your confidence in the
system so you will buy more services.

Victor, I'm assuming the company you went with was in the CPM realm (Cost per thousand). I personally haven't seen much success in that arena. I mean think about it, they are getting paid regardless, you never really KNOW what the results are going to be...they can "get away" with anything. Not saying they are cheating the system at all...but sometimes they send lists that don't necessarily match with the page the traffic is going to.

If I were you, starting out, I would avoid CPM buys...sometimes they work and sometimes you get run over. If you are looking to list build (which is what I'm assuming you are doing with a media buy), I would try more traditional methods of SEO and PPC. SEO is "free"...takes time and effort and some learning but it's something that can be done at relatively low cost. Email sending is always the best option; however, unless you have money to pay, you won't generate too much there. I would do some forecasting...see how much each lead is going to be worth to you in the long run, and then post forums looking to pay per lead (CPL campaigns)...You can get those up on CPA networks sometimes and they will have their affiliates run traffic to it. Be prepared to pay out large sums of money, as it won't be cheap...but you'll get your list built in NO TIME. Otherwise, I think you are back to the basics...learn PPC and SEO though, could never hurt.

Final note: If you take nothing more away from this...avoid CPM for the moment, it can be cheap, but sometimes...you get what you pay for. (Some companies are actually very good about CPM mailings...but I haven't purchased media from them yet).

Am inexperienced (hence naive ).

This is what their enticing sales letter says:

“Why does this system gets fantastic results when other programs are lucky just to get 2 or 3 orders? For starters, by using the broadcasting services I use, you can rest assured that your ad will be going to people who have not received this offer before. Secondly, the fax or email broadcasting services I use have fax numbers or email addresses generated from sources that have not been advertised to death with hundreds of programs. So they are very responsive to this offer, especially when they see what I can provide. Combine all of these things together and success is guaranteed for anyone who uses this system!”




Based on my experiences so far, however, using one of their recommended email broadcasting services, I didn’t get the success as promised above.


My question is – Do you think the program creator didn’t foresee that when many are already marketing his program (and using the same services he recommended), it will sooner or later lose effectiveness OR there is a deliberate deception on his part?


Am a beginner and I would like to understand how the industry works. Am also sharing this concern so that inexperienced aspiring marketers like me would be guided accordingly.


Hope many more would join this discussion for the benefit of other beginners.
