What makes a good logo? Obviously it should be memorable, but how do you make something memorable? What are your tips on how to come up with a logo concept?

I would simply say that you want to ensure that it effectively speaks to your brand and is congruent to what the brand messaging is. Obviously there are logos that became legendary due to the building of the brand (ie. Nike swoosh, Jordan jumping man, etc), but I am guessing you don't have a multi billion budget and years to wait. If you have access to one, a good graphic designer should be able to go from concept to logo for you. Good luck!

A logo is important as much as a face that we have unique to remember by our friends. If you don't make a perfect Logo, then you are losing people that will not return again.

Here are some ideas that may help you . . .
      1. Memorable - Will it stand out in a crowd of other logos? Will you associate it with the business behind it? Does it elicit emotion and a positive feeling about the business it represents?
      2. Distinctive - Does it have a one-of-a-kind and original design? Is it different enough from other logos in the niche such that people would not accuse you of copying something else?
      3. Simple - Is it easily recognizable and easily understood? You don't want prospects to have to guess what your business is about.
      4. Relevant to your niche - Does it make sense for the niche? Is it appropriate for the type of business or product you offer?
      5. Evergreen (timeless) - Will it still be a great logo 5, 15, or 25 years from now? (The opposite of trendy or a short term fad.)
      6. Adaptable - Could the logo still be used if your expand your product line or offerings into related segments of the niche?
      7. Does it scale? Does it look just as good (and is it still readable) when it's small and low resolution?
      8. Does it inspire confidence and trust in the business? Does it represent quality and professionalism? It should not look homemade.
It almost always pays to have a professional designer do your logo. If you simply settle for a "fiverr" designer . . . well it says how serious about your business you really are. No offense meant but you really do get what you pay for.

      • A logo must:
        -Conceptualize the business
        -Have the aesthetic sense
        -Be unique and original
BUT there is another question too. Why we remember Coca cola, Disney and even Google logos with simple text. and there are too many great logos of ordinary companies we have seen and not remeber .If i don't see how can I remember? I think remembering is all about marketing. If a company have the capability to bring his logo in front of people it will be remember. The more often you bring it in front of people eyes, it will be remember with the same ratio. For example, if you designed a very bad logo from an ordinary designer for Google, In to two days the whole digital world would remember that bad logo too
