Article marketing content from my website.

Can someone please help get my head around this if they know anything about it please?

If i was to make a blog post on my website (original content) then go and place the exact same post on a article marketing website with my backlink, would this be an effective backlink strategy.

Could I do this on multiple article sites?

Or, would I get punished for it by Google?

Thank you in advance.

    Yes, you can do that.

No, Google isn't going to punish you. Duplicate content refers to duplicating content on one site. Just be sure to post to your site first, and ideally, get that post indexed before you post the article to other sites.

Yes, you can do it with multiple sites.

Whether it is worth the time posting to multiple directories is questionable. The reason you post to directory sites is to let others see the quality of your offerings and have them repost on their their sites. The backlinks you get via your sig file aren't real helpful these days for SEO.
