How To Effectively Reseach a Niche

Hey Guys, I'm pretty new to IM, but I'm making progress every day. Right now I'm trying to figure out what is the most efficient way to research a niche -if you don't have a lot of knowledge in it- to find out their needs and problems. Maybe you can share how you do it and provide some tips?

    There's a process I go through before I start researching keywords. After I do this, I use the Google Keyword Planner to gather even more data.

    1. I visit forums related to the niche and see what kinds of questions people are asking.

    2. I browse on Q and A sites like Qora or Yahoo Answers to see what people are asking related to the niche.

    3. I search online for blogs in the niche and see what sorts of topics people are writing about.

        One good option is to search forums. There are forums, just like this one, on just about every niche out there.

        On these forums, you will find the questions that people most want answered, as well as gaining more information for in that niche for yourself.

        To me, that seems like a good way to teach yourself more about the niche, as well as finding out types of information people want to access to.

    Is it the competition? Traffic? Needs? Or what?

    I would suggest you visit forums and engage in conversation in Facebook groups to see what the majority of the people are struggling with.

    By giving the people the solution to their problems you are immediately going to be seen as an authority and leader in the niche.

    Don't overcomplicate things and take massive action because by doing what I mentioned above consistently you will get great results

    Check forums, news sites, current affairs etc and get an idea from there, then start using keyword tools to find the good stuff.

    you can also go to top sellers sales pages in your niche. I am taking keywords, especially long tail keywords from sales pages and building articles around them. highly profitable for me

    You could start with a hobby or use a site that has like popular magazine listings (like Amazon). Magazines are automatically broken down into niches. From there, you could use something like the free Google keyword planner to break it down even more. To find more information about the people in the niche (like what problems they have and what makes them buy what they buy), forums are a good place to start. Every popular niche has like top forums that everyone in that niche visits (like IM and the Warrior Forum).

    There's tons of different ways to learn and research more about a niche. You can drop by forums that are dedicated to that niche. If for example you want to learn more about internet marketing, then obviously WF is the place to be. You can head on over to google type in "Blogsyour niche here)" and a list of blogs will pop up. (This is awesome with generating ideas if you're a content creator). You can also invest in training programs where the masters and the experts are the one teaching you on what's new and what works.

    There's tons of different ways out there today. Whenever you're lost, all it takes is a quick search these days. :-)
