Yes Trafficwave is and will always be a double opt-in according to founder Brian Rooney.

That's how they keep such a high deliverability!

Yet their deliverability is not that great. I find that only about 30% of people that opt-in will actually confirm their email.

Furthermore, those using Gmail will most certainly have to go into their spam folders to retrieve the confirmation email. I have tried with 5 different Gmail addresses and the confirmation email always goes to spam.

I tested with Yahoo and my Cox email addresses and the same confirmation email did in fact land in my inbox.

Also, their opt-in forms do not allow you to ask for just email. The minimum you can ask for is name and email. If you can code your own opt-in forms, you can probably get around this, but the ones they offer do not allow for it.

All in all they are not a bad AR, but the bottom line is you get what you pay for.

I think most people are just about making money using their affiliate program.

Yes I agree, they are not a perfect autoresponder. A few things could be tweaked IMO such as the option to have email the only field required.

One good thing is that their price does not increase as you list grows like other autoresponders. They charge one flat fee per month.

I certainly agree they are not a bad autoresponder. I just don't understand why they cannot offer single opt-in. Obviously it doesn't cause that much of a problem for the big ARs so I'm not sure why TrafficWave would be so against it.

Also, they need to upgrade their web form designer. As a matter of fact, they should update the whole site.

As you say, though, for the price it's a great deal. I guess if they were to offer all of the things the bigger ARs do they would have to increase their pricing.

Their lead capture pages are dreadful and should not be used by anyone. It makes it look like you are using a fake autoresponder and people will think you are trying to steal their information for illicit purposes. You will not want to use them and they are not flexible at all. Go with one of the major autoresponders.

I just joined and double opt in seemed to be the only option available to me.
Very pleased with their service though - won't be using Aweber again.
