Amazon Affiliate Earnings Died... What Do I Do?

Hello,

I joined Amazon affiliates got accepted filled out my tax info and all that. For the first two days I made over $25 from my blog but now (6 days later) I've made no more... I'm still getting lost of traffic to Amazon (about 300-500) but 0 sales... what can I do? What went wrong? Thanks

Sounds like you are just starting out. Be patient and give it more time. It takes some people months and even years before they get it consistent !

Since no one knows your site, products, or anything else, how is anyone supposed to give you any useful advice?

    But I'll try ...

It's not the best time of the year to promote many products on Amazon. The reason is the one day cookie to be credited with a referral. If someone pauses just for a day before making a decision you make nothing. People may be clicking during the week and then making a buying decision on the weekend. Around Christmas time conversion rates are quicker.

Are you promoting with other affiliate programs and noticed a similar decline in sales?

      Keep at it,

When you get better then diversify into another income stream. Eventually you want at least three.

Definitely keep the campaign going even if you eventually break even or make a small loss. You have not run it long enough to gather information to analyse so your next campaign can benefit for the insight you gain on this one. That is core of how IM works, you gain experience through taking action as efficiently as you can based on what you already know, then you append that experience to your knowledge and improve your efficiency until you achieve the type of results you are looking for (if not better)

Keep at it! and Best of luck to you.

This is so wrong is it still April 1st?

While amazon sales do go up around Christmas, Christmas is not the time to start. The time to start is now! As Churchill said ACTION THIS DAY.

If you write well, and knock down every barrier through your review that may prevent the purchase then the visitor should be compelled to click that buy button.

Today I made over $150 off Amazon, and thats not a one off - my income has been about $15,000 of Amazon in the last 12 months. About $1000 a month and $2,000 near Christmas.

I sell handcrafted wood products along with some Amazon wood products and was pleasantly surprised when some one purchased a $400 scale like the ones you see at your Dr. office. I noticed that people come to my site and click on Amazon related products but buy a Amazon product totally unrelated. You may see that on your site too.

How long have you been making money with Amazon? I'm more or less trying to figure out if you are just starting out or have been running with them for a while

If you're getting 300-500 people daily to click on your Amazon links after six days of building a site, then one of three things are happening-

    1) You're a marketing savant that should be charging Fortune 100 companies 7+ figures to advise them.

    2) You used dozens of black hat methods and the people visiting you have no interest in your site.

    3) You're using paid ads far too early and the people visiting you do not trust your site.

While only you can answer which category you fall into, your site is far too young to get frustrated over. A lot of people will spend 6-8 weeks before ever earning a penny and most never earn any real money at all. So just keep at it. As long as you're doing things the right way, you'll continue to grow.

There are good days and bad days. Sometimes you'll have days where you get a few hundred clicks and no sales. Keep it up, though!

I would try to incorporate Amazons Buy Now button as much as possible. With it you get the 90 day cookie feature which is very powerful. Also take note of which country you are a Amazon Affiliate with, and which countries you are getting your traffic from. Makes a HUGE difference in your Amazon commissions. Good Luck.

I have a website promoting Amazon products, approximately 3 years. "New Year" and "Black Friday" is an amazing place for special occasions such as sales performance. You can improve the performance of sales in the year pulling traffic to social media and advertising channels. So we need to be patient to make the sale and you need to work hard and play on the right products.

Before I can tell you why your earnings dropped, I need to ask what niche products you are promoting? Are they evergreen or seasonal? Do you have any comparative reviews? How are they placed for maximum vision?

I think you should check the products that gave you your first sales. Get more of those products on your website and see what happens.

From your OP, I could easily tell you that your sell will drop off........

    Reasons:
Your site is new, you must be ranking for some keywords for the freshness score.

Google ranks site for "Freshness". Now that your site is getting old........Google dance stopped. Rankings dropped. Sales got drained away.........work on your rankings and sales will be starting to flow like wave in a river.

I don't have much experience with the paid marketing methods.........so can't assume anything useful there.

    I hope this helps.

Check your traffic, which country do you get the traffic from? Are you sending relevant traffic to the website? Is your traffic from search engines or other means?

If you can answer the above questions, I can possibly find the solution for your issue.

This is a very interesting thread. I got an email about it from Warrior . I don't know exactly what you are talking about however. I make my living using online. Not selling any products. Just doing service locally. So I was doing local.amazon.com which is a sort of coupon service. It was for home handi-man service. It was a miserable failure. They would not let me market my real service of basement waterproofing because there is not enough call for that.So I was allowed to go under handi-man but all the small print was about waterproofing and the website I used was my Basement Waterproofing Michigan Leak Rod Hole Repair Foundation Crack Injection Restoration (which is under re-construction to make it "responsive temporarily moved to carpetshq.com. So I moved over to Groupon.com and that was an overnight success. They have a different way of doing things.. All I can say is why don't you just sell your own products and services and forget amazon.

Maybe if you offer a high price item from amazon, it would help to increase your sales :-)
