When is it time to drive traffic to your blog?

So i started a blog in the health niche, and I am wondering, when do you know it is time to drive traffic to your blog? How many articles are a good base to where it'll actually grab peoples attention? I plan on using paid advertising, want to get my moneys worth you know?

You can start bringing in traffic to your blog when you have the following:
    • At least one freebie to give away to build list (report, video, audio interview, free coaching session and so forth)
    • 10 high quality articles
    • A few social media buttons, ie: facebook, twitter or google plus
    • Maybe one or two products to sell (this can be your own or affiliate products)

Maybe you should start with some free traffic (ie: forum traffic) and measure your conversion.

Always find ways to tweak and improve your conversion. Once you're happy with it -> start your paid traffic campaign.

    Hope it helps :-)

      Totally agree.

Create a facebook page, so people can interact with each other there.
As user don't often go to your site, but they are more active on social site.

    there's no perfect timing..
the best time is to do it now..
unless you have huge subscribers, then we can say "what is the best time?"..
as for now, to sooner you start driving traffic to your blog the better it is to be..

the first thing that's drive traffic is HEADLINE.

so, make it compelling enough to your readers & search engines..
that way they will click your link as soon as they see it..

Seriously, as soon as you can start typing in on your keypad. Maybe have a few articles/posts up.

    But get going asap
    Thats what I have done

Whenever you think you're offering value and the visitor will be reasonably likely to take the action that you want them to take. For example, clicking an ad, buying your product, signing up to your email list, etc.

There's no "correct" number of articles that fulfils this requirement.

You might have one awesome article containing affiliate links or with a "buy now" link to buy your product at the end. That's great - go ahead and promote your site!

You might have 100 low quality articles and poorly implemented monetisation methods. In this case, promoting your site with paid ads will just be a waste of money.

Take an honest look at your site and think about whether it's "ready" for paid traffic. If you think it is, start out with a small scale test.

    RIGHT AWAY!

"The only way to get ahead in business; is to be IN BUSINESS".

Over thinking costs you time and money!

Don't worry about NOT getting results at the beginning.

This is something we all have to deal with in the early days.

And don't worry about any negative comments/feedback either.

Just start NOW and learn as you progress with your business strategy.

Learning is great; but you cannot BEAT REAL LIFE ACTION learning.

    All the best,

    Gavin

Driving traffic doesn't need time. it all depends upon the ranking and content.

Test it by yourself which method it suits for you and you will go on that method.

Thank you Nicheguybob (or should that be Nice guy Bob?) for posting your question --- you got some awesome replies! As well as posting questions in the Forum, and reading the posts of others and the replies, if there's anything you're not sure of, don't be afraid to look for a mentor. There are mentors in all niches, including, I'm sure, the weight-loss niche. My big mistake was in thinking I could make it on my own. I was wrong! I struggled for years and spent thousands of dollars that I couldn't really afford, until, finally, I realized I wasn't gong to get anywhere without a mentor --- someone to tell me what to do, and show me how to do it. One of the first things he suggested was to join The Warrior Forum, and I'm glad I took his advice, because there are so many experts here who freely share their knowledge and their time in helping others. Keep smiling!

Do it now. Do it tomorrow. Do it every day. Brian Dean's Backlinko.com ( I HIGHLY recommend that blog to every marketer) only has 48 posts in 2 years and he ranks in the top 5 spots of Google or varius keywords with a list of several thousand. Don't let amount of content worry you. Just make it good!

How many articles do you currently have?

I think you should review and see if you have enough content to impress people and make them not only come back but ideally stay on your site and read other articles and content.

As soon as you launch your website, but only if you have at least a few articles up so that visitors don't come to an empty website.

Free advertising and paid work, but paid is faster, but has a risk. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. Begins to drive traffic to your blog immediately. It helps people to your blog solve their problems, suggests ways to save money or time. Do not push the sale. The traffic will start coming to your blog. Use Google Analytics to know where it comes from.

    Good Luck!

When buying traffic never send it to your blog, instead send it to your capture page, and from there provide value to your list and solutions. If you send traffic directly to your blog you will end up losing a lot of visitors and a lot of sales. If you are looking to grow your blog look at things like guest posting on other blogs with a large audience, getting professional SEO services and from there once your blog is an established authority in your niche and is receiving consistent traffic, focus on building your your list. Your blog should always have fresh information and should be focused on helping your readers. Use your blog to build authority while also build your list.

Depends on the model you are employing.

If you're running a publisher model and generate revenue with adsense and other publisher apps, driving paid traffic straight to the content can be very profitable.

They both have their place, but never say never.

All of these responses are wrong.

Driving traffic to a blog is a mistake. Do NOT drive traffic to a blog until you have an audience. Do guest blogging first, build a list, then launch the blog.

Otherwise, have fun talking to an empty website. I'm sure that'll make you plenty of money.

Try to setup your site as much as possible (create a few quality blog posts, media buttons, an opt-in to subscribe to your list)

after this you can start driving traffic towards your website and begin building momentum, growing your site along with your traffic.
