Using Images From Websites That You Are An Affiliate Of

So are you legally allowed to take the images from the websites that you are an affiliate of (ex. Amazon, Macy's, Gucci) and use them on your own website for promotion by image url link redirecting. This whole copyright business is very confusing.

Thanks
Robbie

It all depends on the terms and conditions of the sites. Some allow it, some encourage it (quite a few vendors on Clickbank provide images for you to use), others prohibit it.

    If in doubt, ask!

Most sites will have contact details for affiliates to get in touch.

Not sure why your asking us, you should be asking the company that your affiliated with. Typically they encourage it or provide images for you to use, but ask first!

    i'm agree with chaotic squid..
typically they encourage you use their provided image.
it because they want to be like "viral" @ phenomenon.

to more people see their ads, they more "exposure" for their business..

but as others said, you should ask them first to clarify..

    Read their term and condition.

Every company has their own policy.

With amazon, you can get banners for your site in the affiliate area.

...and they expressly FORBID you to use merchant supplied images for affiliate marketing those products. You MAY NOT use images from the Amazon marketplace, but ONLY images from the affiliate area.

That's why it is important to check with each seller that you are an affiliate for (or at least read the rules/information available in their affiliate area). There is NO one single answer when it comes to whether you may/may not scrape images for use in affiliate marketing.

It depends from company to company. As long as you are not using the images against them (example: promoting the competitors sites), most companies will not have a problem with it.
