how to get testimonials?

Hi,

I am selling in the health niche and need testimonials on my e-book. I have gone to forums to offer free copies in exchange for testimonials but the forums have prohibited it as "advertising".

Any ideas where I can find "testers" and get testimonials would be greatly appreciated.

I think you should go the route of asking for a review. It's more acceptable than asking for an exchange ( a book for a testimonial ) You want honest reviews too, not just someone saying it's wonderful to make you feel good. I'll be reviewers will pick up on mistakes and help you improve as well.

For health and diet its really best to find someone that stuck with the program you offer, or information in your book, and has had success with it.

Send it to your friends and have them give you HONEST reviews.

Or print a few copies out and give them away to people, stop by a gym and hand some out to a few people. Obviously give them a way to get in touch with you for the review.

      @-Oz: Lol
@JMarno: Try this approach. Search through popular article directories such as ezine articles and go to the signature of the author. If they have their own website, look for a contact link and give them a copy of your product along with a request for a review. You will not get everyone to reply back, but for those that do then you got a winner. If they like it, and have an newsletter, then ask them if they would like to promote your product.

Its hard to get testimonial until you supply quality services. But if you are giving your e-book for free then i think you should reach those who are really interested in these products. They can only get you real testimonial about your e-book.

Why don't you just ask right here in the forum. I see it done all the time. I would be glad to give you an honest review if interested.

I would be happy to give you a testimonial too if you want.

AND I will get back to you - I know it can be tough getting reviews as people who say they will don't always get back to you. I have had this happen too many times.
