Has anyone had any experience promoting a .Org Offline?

I have a nice domain name that is catchy and easy to remember but it is a .org. I wanted to know if any of you guys had a problem promoting a .org since my potential customers may see the name and when they type it in they might just put in .com because it it embedded in their minds. I was going to promote my site offline in newspapers and niche magazines. Any suggestions or prior experience would be greatly appreciated.
