Hi!

In Clickbank, when it comes to promoting a product.. when that product's sales page has an opt-in form, will I still get my commisions when somebody buys it from any emai sent by the vendor??? maybe weeks later??

in other words, do vendors in clickbank maintain your affiliate id when they send emails to their (acquired by me) subscribers????

or maybe should I completely disregard any clickbank product that has an opt-in form in it?

thanks!

To the best of my knowledge, they do not. Those are things you should look for when deciding on which item to promote.. You would essentially be giving the owner free leads.

Another thing to look for are offers that don't use the official Clickbank checkout link. If the checkout link goes to PayPal or something and not the Clickbank checkout page - You also would not get commission.

If a person that you sent to the vendor buys something, you will still get credit (I think) -- even weeks later. Some vendors mail out more than others, but when they do (and you see commissions because of it), it's a welcome surprise. I don't know exactly how long the cookies for Clickbank last, but they last a really long time. No worries.

    ok thank you guys.

Miguelito, I know that bro but they can still replace your aff id by theirs, in the customer's computer... so they would end up getting the commi, if the last click trought an aff link was his.

Any more experiences?? Do vendors maintain your aff id in their follow up emais??

There's actually one workaround for this situation provided the optin form is a exit pop squeeze page.

There's a software called Catcha Monkey by the Memberspeed crew which basically allow you to put iframe on affiliate sales page. Here's the killer: it 'destroys' the original exit popup with your own exit popup.

So you get the exiting subscribers, not the vendor. Affiliate commission goes to you as well.

It is indeed a really annoying fact to know that you are missing out on a good portion of your commission due to this situation!

      Hope that helps!

My take from the description is this is obvious and amateur cookie stuffing.

The most likely result when a vendor sees what is happening to subscribers and the interference on their website is a complaint to Clickbank followed by action being taken against the affiliate.

In my experience, yes, you still get the commissions. Every product is different, but I promoted one where the home page was basically a squeeze page so all sales went through the vendor's email. I still got my commissions.

If someone has a different experience then can mention it. Otherwise, there's a lot of speculation on this thread.

I wouldn't promote someone else's list. Vendors are lucky enough to have affiliates to go out and do most of the work so their products get sold.

These guys shouldn't have an 'opt in' form collecting your leads.
