Default Flip Camera HD - Agh, size of videos Massive - Help

Hi Gang

Having been very excited about getting my first flip (which is a Mino HD), I did a 30 second clip to test, looked great...BUT...I donwloaded it to PC and it's 24 meg!!! Agh, I know it's HD but I thought mp4 are small for the quality? What if I wanna do 10 or 20 minute videos, they will be WAY too big to use as a download, and take up lots of storage.

Sooooo, am I being thick, or do I have to convert them etc? It just seems if I have to do all that, it's no longer quick and easy, and I might as well return it and get the standard version :-( Ok, better stop before you see a grown man cry, especially after having to convice the Mrs it was a good idea to get one.

Hi - I also have the Mino HD, and I love it. But if I want to upload my clips, I'll run them through Pinnacle Studio. The latest version can take Mino HD clips and convert them into DivX HD. The quality is nearly identical, but the size is much much smaller.

Plus Pinnacle Studio will allow you to make your videos more professional looking.

I've got an HD and a regular digital Camcorder... I bought the non-HD one just to use for standard stuff, because you REALLY don't want to have to convert every second of footage you record if it's not business-related.

If you got it "just for fun", you may better off with the standard one. (Sorry)

Hi Phil, thats a little bit weird to have such a huge size.did u try posting it online option in the flip where u have option of posting it to Youtube. Do not select that and go for other. It will store it in WMV file. Check what the size of the file is . It shouldnt be that big.
