Is this affiliate redirect flow bad?

We noticed one of our affiliate's links redirects first to here ..ht_tp://www.affanalytics.com/.... then here ..ht_tp://www.jdoqocy.com/....... then here ..ht_tp://cj.dotomi.com/... then here ..ht_tp://www.emjcd.com/.....

Is this bad? Is this cookie stuffing or something? For most affiliates, there is just one redirect (..ht_tp://www.emjcd.com/......)

Thanks a lot for any insight.

Here are the series of re-directs. Is this bad?

    ..ht_tp://www.jdoqocy.com/...
    ..ht_tp://cj.dotomi.com/...
    ..ht_tp://www.emjcd.com/...

What is your definition of bad?
It could just be a series of tracking links, I guess we would really need to know what your concerns are

My affiliate links always have at least two links and they used to have three. In the past the first link was the affiliate link. I would add that link to my tracking system, which would give me a new link.

But that link was very ugly and long so I would then mask that link so it was much shorter and better looking.

Now I have written my own software so I'm able to track and mask with one process. So there are two links and not three any more.

It may be that your example has also added some kind of analytics link to the mix.

    Best regards,

Well I believe your affiliate link is in fact a rotator link, and that's why you're seeing different link each time it redirects.

From a marketing perspective, it is bad because the redirected link might not reflect content in sync with what you presented to your visitors initially - unless it's a deliberate redirection for more precise targeting.

Well if you're simply looking at MMO or IM, then it should be fine.

It's a common practice to distribute the traffic across links, or based on geographical locations.

    Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the replies. Usually the affiliate link I see is just this..ht_tp://www.emjcd.com/... I can understand why an affiliate would add a second redirect for tracking purposes, such as this..ht_tp://www.affanalytics.com/...

It's the other two links below that had me concerned this affiliate was doing something nefarious, such as routing users thru a second aff program, or cookie stuffing, or something else.
