Tips To Drive Great Quality Traffic To Your Website/Squeeze Page

Hey there warriors!

I haven't been around much lately and haven't really posted much here but I've seen that many people are having problems driving great quality traffic to their websites.

So.. I decided to contribute to the community with this post about the different options available to get great free quality traffic.

Without further ado let's dive into it!

1. Forums: Forums are a place in which people can ask just about any question on any topic and get a variety of different answers. Unlike blogs, forums often contain short answers in response to a direct question.

A simple Google search will generally lead you to the most popular forums in a niche. After all, that's probably how the people in that niche are finding them.

Unlike blogs, often people on the forums are NOT experts and do not have to establish credibility. This is both a positive and a negative.

The negative is that ANYONE (expert or not) can answer a question. This leads to a lot of bad advice and people starting fights (for fun or malice).

The positive is that if you provide GOOD answers, you will be head and shoulders above the rest of the people posting.

2. Blogs: Blogs are Big for Traffic - Like forums, blog commenting is about driving traffic back to your opt-in page. Unlike forums, the point of blog commenting often isn't to answer a question. It's to weigh in on the blog with your own thoughts.

3. Guest Blogging: One of the best sources of high quality traffic is Guest Blogging, if you haven't heard of blogging yet, you have been living under a rock! Blogs are websites on which experts discuss topics in a casual, essay-like format. Guest blogging is when another expert (like YOU) writes a post on someone else's blog. That's Free Traffic from Other People's Blogs!

4. Craigslist: When you think of marketing, I'm assuming Craigslist isn't the first thing that pops in your head. If you think about it, though, Craigslist is one of the most popular sites on the web and it reaches millions of people.

Advertising on Craigslist may seem difficult, but it's actually quite simple.

Here are the two basic ways to promote on Craigslist:
Craigslist Discussion Boards/Forums
Small Biz Ads - Many people don't even know this section of craigslist exists (just be careful with the sites rules).

5. Yahoo Answers: Yahoo! Answers and other similar Q & A websites have become increasingly popular for finding answers to every type of question in every niche. Whether you are specializing in online marketing, health, dating... there will ALWAYS be questions that need answers.

Best of all, Google LOVES these sites. They rank high in Google's results.

6. Twitter: Social Media is more than a buzzword. Years of successful business campaigns using Social Media to grow lists have proven this.

With a bigger name product, social media is a given. But for most marketers with email start-ups, it's often an afterthought. Well, their loss is your gain! Twitter is an easy to use social media tool that can drive traffic to your opt-in page.

I truly hope this information helps you drive more traffic to your website/squeeze page, and always remember to take action! start implementing them right away!

To your success,
Jonathan N

This is a great list and very true if you want to gain quality traffic for free.

would also include Reddit as a great source of traffic at it allows you to post links in niche specific sub-reddits. If it is a quality post, it will get upvoted and can drive insane traffic to your site in a single day.

  • As much as I have and do use free traffic creation methods, it should be pointed out for completeness that free traffic on the whole is slower to get and requires on the whole much more effort than paid for options.

I stress I am not knocking free sources of traffic (I think people would be daft to ignore them), but if you are going down that route you have to understand that it may take some time to get a significant amount of traffic.

Personally I'm in the 'variety is the spice of life' camp and have always used methods that are both free and paid for. Why limit yourself is what I say

I agree with you, there are many other paid options that are actually instant traffic, and the one I personally use and think is the best by far taking into account cost and click conversion, Solo Ads.

I've tried different paid methods and the best one I've found as to ROI is Solo Ads, however this might differ from niche to niche. I'm in the internet marketing niche and works wonders.

For HIGH QUALITY traffic like you said in the title, none of those besides blogging and Yahoo Answers is a good option. Forums work if you're established yourself as an authority, but everyone there should already be in your industry.....so there's probably not much business to be found except in marketing forums like this one.

Guest blogging is penalized by Google these days and most of the "guest sites" are overrun with poor, spammy content, so that's not exactly high quality traffic either. Now, if you can guest blog on high PR authority sites that only respected journalists are given access to, then that's a different story...but that's a horrible tip for the casual internet marketer.

Craigslist is also a bad choice for most niches because nobody goes to the "cheap listing site" for professionals. Sure, there is work to be had there, and you'll do well if you're good with 30 cents on the dollar to what professionals charge.

Twitter and most social sites are also poor places to find business because you have to already have a large following to help promote you (unless you're paying for sponsored ads). So it's definitely not an early-strategy for finding quality traffic...although it can be down the road.

LinkedIn and YouTube, on the other hand, are excellent starting social sites. YouTube ranks well since it's owned by Google and that creates an additional traffic stream. LinkedIn is great because people love networking their businesses, and the profile makes you appear a lot more professional overall. Of course, Google+ is an absolute must as well because it's owned by Google and places your business on a map.

I would weigh in and say it depends on what you are advertising. Different products and services require different traffic sources. Where are your customers likely to be? All of the suggestions are valid, depending on what you are trying to accomplish. I like a combination of free and paid myself, just adjust your time or budget for advertising to a point you feel comfortable with. AdWords are still hard to beat.

Yahoo answers is not great anymore - not since they started pulling posts with affiliate links

I would add YouTube as one of the better ways to get free traffic and high quality backlinks when you add your site address to the description and also add the video inside of your post
