Do I have a chance at Internet Marketing?

Hi guys! I am at awe to see the bright minds of this forum unfold, share, help and tell stories that inspire others to strive for more. Today, I would like to ask such warm-hearted and helpful individuals to help me evaluate my website in terms of potential revenue making and whether or not I have a shot at actually making money from my hobby. It is a bodybuilding, fitness, nutrition website, and I would like to know what are those things that I do good and what are the things that I do not.

In terms of traffic, I do not really get that much, but when I do, they are from organic searches or from Quora (where I answer questions on a daily basis) and Google+. I would love to hear your stories in how you would think my website could improve in that respect.

I have recently launched an eBook for free, but I only got like 8-10 subscribers in 5 days, which is not that many, I believe. I do not even know whether I should start sending newsletters and actually engage with these subscribers or wait until I have a 100 or so.

I also thought about starting a Youtube channel and do some Powerpoint lectures in certain health-related issues(muscle building, proteins and whatnot).I have the expertise..I just do not know how to put it out there so that others engage with my content. I am currently taking a course on coursera in Content Strategies, and I have already finished a lot of courses in Internet Marketing. I understand the basic concepts, I am just unable to implement them as of yet. This is why I need some guidance.

Any help would be appreciated, and thank you for your constructive criticism in advance.

Why would you wait. The first subscriber is no different then the one thousand and first.

      Laszlo,

Great start to a business. Nice layout and design for your web site.

The one thing I would suggest at this point is to specialize in something. Become known for something that sets you apart from everyone else in the body building/nutrition market.

As you know, there are thousands of other web sites built around the same topic, some that are being promoted very heavily with huge marketing budgets. You need to find an angle, a different way of applying what you know to a very crowded market.

By specializing in something, you will cut down the amount of competition you have. It will be easier to rise to the top of the market.

Do some market research and see if there isn't some area of body building that you could tackle that would set you apart from everyone else.

Being the big fish in a small pool will bring you traffic and money.

      The best to you,

      Steve

No you are amazing mate. Finally a decent question about an implemented idea that needs sharpening. Nothing hypothetical or silly.

          Good site, keep at it.

Your site does look pretty good.

I would use videos to build your subscriber list.

They are easy to put together, easy to get ranked and generate targeted traffic, who you have already built some rapport and trust with.

You don't need any expensive equipment, you don't even need to appear in the video if you don't want to.

Build your list and email on a daily basis. Always provide value.

After a few videos you will start to build a good reputation and start building your authority.

Dont give up, you have the most important ingredient - the right mindset.
