In my opinion, if you don't know the answer to your question you shouldn't be risking your last 10k. HOWEVER.....if you believe in your website and have independent verification that your concept is solid....keep 3-5k back for traffic generation strategy and go all in with one of the big coaches. Every single successful IMer I have heard of says they couldn't do it without mentoring.

Be careful how you use your money, use it wisely. If you don't know what you are doing and decide to spend all your money on paid advertising that $10,000 can quickly turn into zero thousand. My suggestion is get an quality education in Internet Marketing first then try and figure out how you should invest your money online.

I would not recommend that you start to market your site with all that $10,000. You have no clue if it is going to convert people to hire and look for freelancing work.

Maybe you can start with just $500 to see how things are working out. Tweak things to make the system better when traffic is coming.

I wouldn't throw $10k at marketing that website if it's everything you've got. There is a lot of room for improvement on the site before taking a drastic move like that. It looks too cheap.

I did a sesrch for your site it looks like you are using some kind of fiverr clone script. the market is pretty saturated right now in the area of freelancing with them very well developed players. I think it would be very dangerous to risk ten thousand dollars right now unless you had a very solid plan for a clear audience in a niche that is not well exploited.

basically i am building this platform for the African matke. what happens here is you would find a service sold on Fiverr or any other freelancing site for $100 would be sold here by companies for $500 so msking services here quite high. then again people here are just starting to familiarise themselves with similar plarfoms and this is all new to them and are starting to learn how they work which is the added advantage. the story now is how do i market it? how do i educate the masses?

As I see it, you have two options.

Option One: Don't try to hit an already saturated market. Fiverr/PPH clones are tired and wastes of resources. Don't bother with that site, and go learn internet marketing from experts here at WF. You could spend $17 on the product of the day, and spend the remaining money creating a huge empire.

Option Two: Go and purchase a ready made and established site on Flippa.com. Choose something in your skillset, or something easy to pick up. Go be successful.

Listen to what people have to say here.

If you have that kind of money to spend then save it for later. You can go a long way online by using free services.

The only thing you HAVE to pay for in the beginning are minimal costs (if you don't have a huge email list that is):

    - Hosting/Domains (monthly or annually payments, renewals etc.)
    - Email autoresponder software (aweber, mailchimp, getresponse)

Everything else is just cherry on the top. The free stuff includes:

    - Writing/making videos for your site.
    - Wordpress.
    - Marketing.
    - Product creations.
    - Affiliate marketing.

    And so on...

My advice would be to save that money until you get your business up and running. Then you can start considering hiring designers or developers to tweak and customize your website, or freelance writers to write articles or make videos for you.

When it comes to paid traffic, hold off a while. See where the free traffic methods gets you first.

I realize that this post got a little cramped, but just listen to what people have to say. Most reasonable people will tell you to hold onto that money until you find an opportunity that will yield good results!

    Just my 2 cents

press release press release press release

then PPC on BING, and FB to build a nice targeted list to advertise to, and build repore, and sell sell sell.

I know this is just a two lined response, but very powerful and how I sold a business for $300k once established back in 2014.

You just gotta get your message out infront of exactly the right audience.... do that, and you will do exceptionally well. Target deep, meaning laser focused, and ask yourself, how can you advertise to the more targeted customer most likely to buy for the least amount of money. I mean, where are they right now? Once you do this, you can make it rain money any day, or any time.

If I had $10K and I was starting again, I would invest in a coach/mentor. That is the only thing that will get you to where you want to be in the fastest possible time. I would invest maybe $5K in a coach and keep the other $5K for traffic and tools you will need.

Make sure you do your research though, like everything in life there are good coaches and bad. You want a coach who:

    1. Is actually doing what they teach
    2. Is successful in what they do
    3. Have great feedback and testimonials - Ask if you can speak directly to their past/present students

    Hope that helps.

Yeah thats nothing, man. I had $100,00 to invest when I started . But I put $99,900 away in the bank and started with $100 with some basics. And bought a few inexpensive programs and took some advice from some legit players here at WF

From what I can see - this site was launched in March just before you asked for advice here. It's a nice site - but it is targeted to a specific geographic location. I would think it's a bit of a tricky balance to begin with for a site like this.

To attract buyers you need good workers ...and that works both ways. I would suggest a two pronged advertising approach to target the market for buyers and service providers. That may be necessary as the pool of freelancers that will sign up to a .co.za freelance site will be more local in nature than the market of buyers that might be attracted by the prices.

I think you should use press releases, free methods and paid advertising geo-targeted to your area of the world at least in the beginning. If your site gains a reputation for good freelancers and/or reasonable prices you can expand your targeted area as the business grows.

Great advice. Although, I have quite a few Welsh in my family, so I'm sure a lot of that $10k would go into "planning" down the pub just kidding Gareth lol

Advice is advice. Merely stating you disagree, rubbishing a peer, and offering nothing to the conversation is hardly helpful, or even worth posting. This is a "nothing" post.

Interesting post since you'd do well to take your own advice. Hence rubbishing a peer comment.

You've posted rudely twice in the thread - yet have offered NO help or advice of your own.

Looking back, seems to be what you do in several threads. What's the point of that?

    Hello,

It is very easy to waste money if you do not things in the right way. Here is a little list of important point you will want to consider

    1. Start small
    2. Create about 3 different landing pages you send your traffic to
    3. Keep track of where you are promoting and which one of those landing pages convert more
    4. Once you have the winner landing page (the one that converts more) and the source of traffic that converts more, use them to scale up. Discard the other landing pages and sources of traffic.
    5. Start all over again

    Hope this helps,
    Marco
