Questions about affiliate marketing from a noob.

Hello everybody!
Glad to say I just created this account!

I want to ask, do I need to know html, css, and javascript to make a successfull affiliate market website? I have wordpress but I feel like the site would look like shit.

What is the most profitable form of internet marketing? Affiliate marketing through a website, affiliate marketing through email, Dropshipping site?

I'm 19 and have all the time in the world to learn whatever I have to become successful as an online marketer, but I really don't know where to begin and what my main focus should be.

Your answers are greatly appreciated! Thank you, Jonathan.

It's helpful to know some basic HTML but wordpress with the new themes available is so easy. Mostly drag and drop, point and click.

Well, it depends on your skill sets, and what you wish to develop in.

It's definitely good to build an affiliate site on codes, but if it's overwhelming you or slowing your progress, then you should definitely use Wordpress.

Content Marketing is a huge part of Affiliate Marketing, and using a Content Management System (CMS) definitely helps you to add content with ease. You can also leverage on the plethora of Wordpress marketing plugins to collect leads and optimize the site for marketing purposes.

    Just my 2 cents.

No. But I'm sure there's some product or service that teaches how to learn HTML, CSS, or Javascript. (I'm too lazy to Google it. ) If you knew a lot about those, it would be much easier to know what is or isn't a good product to become an affiliate for.

That largely depends on the theme you choose. I've seen some pretty good Wordpress themes.

I wouldn't say knowing HTML is necessary, but it doesn't hurt!

Affiliate marketing is a great way to start as it doesn't require too much startup capitol. What is important is that you get started. You will learn more from doing your own experiments than reading these posts!

Your site definitely wont look like shit. I would suggest getting a premium theme, these usualy look a little nicer and are coded a little better.

    Hope this helps, Chris

    No programming is needed.
If you are building list, you need to create a squeeze page/opt-in page, you can outsourced it.

Focus on what you do best.

If it is copywriting, then focus on copywriting.
If it is connecting to people than connect to people.

Knowledge is power, but there is the so called 20/80 rules that seriously help. Focus on the 20% of the activity and knowledge that will make you 80% of your money.

      Think about this.

      What makes people buy?
      1. The prospects know their situation, their problem.
      2. You are there, with a message.
      3. If the value proposition of your message is clear and enticing, BOOM, sales.

So what you need truly truly need to learn is to find people who're aware of their problem, and tell them with a strong message of how you can solve (or the product you're promoting).

Your site doesn't have to be super flashy in order to convert visitors to buyers.

It's your message and headlines that matters. And content of course. Those are the stuffs that make people buy. People see a good deal, they grab it!

And also, find a traffic source where people are aware of their problems. Where people are searching for a solution. That's where the money is made!

As for the most lucrative business model... Well, everything is profitable, but I personally go for product creation - list building - affiliate marketing.

      Hope that helps!

Hi Jon, you are 19 and just getting in to IM. Good for you. I got in at the age of 34 (about 10 years ago). What I have discovered was that age doesn't matter.

What matters is to know exactly what you want out of IM.

This would be the area I would be looking into if starting all over again.

What is behind this 'decision' to get involved in IM in the first place? Are you in for the long haul (longevity) or just here to test the waters and see how things can work out for you.

Success in this industry (just like any other) comes from knowledge, skill, hard work, determination and lots and lots of patience.

I was asked this question by my wife several times not long ago...

If I had Millions of dollars in my bank account, would I still be doing what I am doing?

    - I said...Damn right I would be.

I got in at the age of 34 because I had established a family, house and a trucking career that took me away from all of the stuff that I wanted to spend my time doing.

So my desire was strong enough to succeed.

If I was 19, I'd be partying with my friends and having a grand ole time.

I've heard of others here who are only looking to make a few dollars here and there. Some folks are content just to see any form of income (even $5) come in online.

I don't know what's the point of that.

It can take a lot of work to make five bucks or even five thousand bucks [online]. It's the same work. Others may disagree. So be it.

So if money wasn't an option, what would you be doing?

The reason that I ask this question is because there is a lot to learn here and results don't just come because of passion.

And it could take you a full year of consistent effort (depending on you) before you start seeing results (working every day).

I am not trying to talk you out of this. If you have a lot of desire and love the idea of IM, go for it!

However, I am just trying to let you know what you're getting into.

It can be useful to have some knowledge about the topic but do you really need it? No not really. There are so many ways to get a good looking website today and it's also easy to build your own one with wordpress.

If you think it's just to much and you don't have time to learn the skills than outsource the whole website creation process. I'm there are plenty of freelances out there who can provide good quality work for a cheap price.

Also when you ask what is the best way to earn money? There are plenty. Of course affiliate marketing is a good way to start but it also requires a lot of work from you don't underestimate this. I would build a blog to review products and setup at the same time opt in forms on your site to build a list.

by the way building a list should be your main focus when you want to be serious with affiliate marketing. The most money is not made from sending people to your blog rather from building a list where you can build a relationship and trust with your subscribers. This way you'll sell more and the traffic on your site is not lost if you can convert them to subsrcibers.

Wordpress has made setting up a website dummy-proof. You don't need to know any html, or any of that stuff. It will help to know the basics, but I rarely find myself having to know any code when using wordpress to setup new websites.

Dude, welcome along. I'm just starting on a similar journey but I don't believe you need HTML at all to do your thing. One tip I can offer though is, if you build a blog, document your 'learning' process as well....then just slip in your affiliate links along the way, so if you do end up creating a HTML site and it looks the bomb, promote the course that taught you to do it and earn commissions as you go.

Premium plugins such as OptimizePress, and Profitbuilder will give you easy dran n' drop page designers where anybody can create gorgeous websites.

The most profitable affiliate marketing strategy - is your own personalized one. You need to create a business model that makes money - period. A good way to start would be create a blog and start building up an email list.

I started when I was 19 too! Good luck!

  • No you do not need to learn programming skills to build your affiliate marketing sites or do affiliate marketing.

Wordpress is a good platform for beginners. I agree that there are WP premium themes that you can avail, easily install and customize for your website. There are also plugins that you can add to make your website look good.

There are also a lot of easy-to-build WP themes like Affilotheme, which is also a good choice for newbies or non-techy person.

My advice is to find out what you like and have passion for and find ways to monetize it.

Don't think of Internet Marketing like a field where you have to pick something in it to make money. The words "Internet Marketing" is exactly what it says marketing on the internet.

You can market pretty much anything on the internet. There are just different forms of marketing.

As far as wordpress I use wordpress and love it. I use to build by hand but saw majority of marketers using wordpress. At first I resisted, but over many years I have found don't resist what other successful people are doing.

Also it's not about graphics its more about your content. People don't really care about how your site looks if you are providing value to them.

Online marketing is about providing value...

When you work a job you are trading time for money

Online you are trading value for money.

Find something you like, provide value, monetize it.... Using the easiest tools to get you there.

affiliate marketing is perhaps the step just to get started, then you have to focus a lot on the site, must be well done .. because you will need to attract potential buyers, in order to create a list, and then progress with your work, but this the field is very broad .. suggest you accompany initially .. by people more experienced and trusted ... and above all serves perseverance and desire to do .. good luck

In my opinion, Wordpress is the best blogging/website/affiliate system ever created.

You can learn Wordpress for free. Check out udemy.com and type "Wordpress" in search box. You can find free courses.
