Which works better for direct income

A: a website, 5 to 10 pages, basic html, updated via RSS 1 to 3 times daily. Using clickbank ads.

B: a Blog, updated via RSS, 1 to 3 times daily using RSS, clickbank ads.

Next, same thing using adsense.

c: a website, 5 to 10 pages, basic html, updated via RSS 1 to 3 times daily. Using adsense ads.

d: a Blog, updated via RSS, 1 to 3 times daily using RSS, adsense ads.

in this case I am discounting the fact that a blog can end up with thousands of more pages, there for the possibility of getting more visitors from searchengines, etc.

There's no solid answer because it depends on the product and market.

One thing I can tell you....RSS won't matter much. You need backlinks to rank and get traffic. replace "updated via RSS, 1 to 3 times daily using RSS" with "updated via backlinks from Squidoo, Hubpages, Buzzle, Wetpaint, EZA, GoArticles, 1-3 times a week using articles" and you will be in a MUCH better place.

I know it's tough the way I worded it, but all else being equal, i.e. same market, same back links,

Which would get better traction in the search engines?

Once at the site which would get more clicks. Simple HTML or the blog?

ONe of the things i am wondering about is the code behind the sites.

The simple HTML page would seem to have less code to sift through than a blog. The search engine has to sift through the code to determine what it will actually index.

Here's what I've noticed over the years.

Blogs rank faster...but also fall out of grace faster if not frequently updated.

HTML ranks slower...but longterm ranking is stronger.

I'll take A and C anyday over Wordpress.
