Using Business Cards to get clients?

Hi,

I've ordered some business cards for my new design studio I"m opening. Whats the best strategy for using these to get new clients?

    Business cards are mainly when you connect with someone in person. They are good to give out to current clients to hand to their friends, or simply as a way for someone to have all your contact information. It's a networking tool.

    They also work great if you have an information booth. And people come in to get information from you about designing something, and you hand them a business card to your website, and your phone number so they can contact you when they are ready to purchase.

    Business cards are nothing like online marketing where your sales page does the work. Or where you have an opt-in form to get their email and you market to their emails directly.

    I used to work at a car dealership, and one thing I started doing that skyrocketed my sales, was whenever I sold the car, and had a good reputation with the customers, I would give then 15 business cards, and a personalized letter in an envelope every time I delivered a car.

    I told them for every customer they sent me, I would pay them $75 (I made about 400 on an average sale).

    Answer your question, everyone else had business cards, and they gave them out, but they didn't have as much traffic or sales as I did. It's not about using business cards, or not using them, it's about being able to use them intelligently in the situation to produce results.

    Since you're opening a new design studio, using a business card to gain new clients MIGHT help but it is definitely not the tool in gaining new clients for your business. You can send them out either via electronic mail or post mail - with the main purpose of introducing your company and the services you are offering!

    To gain more or new customers, there should be a follow up efforts needed to be done after sending the business card. And that's another story..
