Default Information overload

Hi

I just signed up a few hours ago, and i feel like im watching an episode of lost. Every thread just leaves me with more questions lol.

I couldn't even find a welcome section so i hope posting here is ok.

A quick bit about me. Im 23, a full time uni student , and i live in Australia. Financially im struggling! Lecture times + a serious injury im still recovering from make a standard job impossible. So im really motivated to learn as much as i can about making money online. Unfortunately the only experience i have is surveys, so im a complete n00b to internet marketing.

It was actually a scam company called "world market systems" that made me even think about internet marketing as a way of making money. very slick sales people, thank god i checked them out on the web before signing up lol.

After some more research tho, i found PPC-coach and Wealthy affiliate. Thinking about signing up with PPC-coach... On one of the PPC-coach promotion videos he mentions the warrior forum. so here i am

Tones of ebooks sounded good in the Warrior Special Offers Forum, but they seemed to focus on specific areas, and i dont even know what area of internet marketing i want to get into... Would really appreciate a quick summary of the different areas of internet marketing, their pros and cons, and what to avoid. Or a link to a thread that already explains this. I have words flying around in my head like blogging, landing sites, CPA, CPM, CPL, CCP, something about offline real estate being the future?

Any free recommend ebooks that could help me get an overview of the industry would be an awesome start. Will probably buy a few when i know more.

Im kinda worried i might have missed the boat tho.. is there still opportunity for someone to come so late in the game and still make good money?

That thread about google banning affiliate marketers adword accounts sounds like a problem for the industry too

Cheers,

Kevin

Welcome to WF. You will find a huge amount of information available here. If you are starting out and have time rather than money stay away from paid for products including Warrior Offers initially. Everything you need to know is available free if you work to find it.

I know I have not answered your overall question which is a little too general. Do a little more reseach and ask specific questions and you will get answers here - sometimes far too many!

There are still great opportunities for you to make good money, but IM is not a "get rich quick" scheme - you have to work at it.

Good luck,

Clive

What helped me was just absorbing all of the wealth in this forum. After a little while, you will find out what you are interested in and will learn more about it.

Try that.

One of the first places to start is to understand how money is being made online - the business models at play...

1) Information publishing - informatoin being sold to hungry niche markets looking to achieve desired outcomes or avoid pain -- ebooks, reports, membership sites, seminars, courses, etc... Nice part about this business is you can have a range of info products from low-end reports or ebooks through highly personalized coaching programs or consulting at $20K or more depending on the niche and expertise.

Here's a completely free, no strings interactive info product publishing course we have going on right now if this model lines up with your interests.

You can make money two ways with these - as an affiliate selling someone else's information products or make your own and sell those

2) Affiliate marketing - matching a desire to buy something online (books, CD's, nutritional or health products, services, consumer products, etc...) with a strong ability to place yourself between that customer and the sale will earn you commission income as an affiliate marketer

3) Advertising - this one means you need to target mass markets with an exceptional ability to pull in traffic and charge more for advertising on your site leaving you a profit generated from online ads.

There are subtle differences within each of these - but these are the basic online monetization models.

Once you decide on one, it then becomes a little easier to pick a niche market and put your monetization plan into action.

Jeff

Kevin
It is confusing first off, you have had in my opinion two of the best bits of advice that oyu can have when you start..

1) Keep your money in your pocket. (That is until you know what area you want to work in, when you have and earned a little money then you can pay for an education)

2) Try as someone else suggested Ed Dale'sThirty Challenge. I started with that and can high;ly recommend it for giving you an overview. It has several advantages you will meet other as you will here and it's free and Ed is a fellow Aussie.

Use the search as someone suggested find a term you want etc. Now my suggestion is I know when I started I heard the word keyword research and thought "oh no not for me! That is boring!". In truth I think that still, it is boring, but it is also the kety to marketing success. Yopu have to target a group of people and sell them something. Start by typing in keyword research and copy and paste everything that you read here about keyword research and seer it into uyour brain.
Good luck and welcome

Information overload is one of the main obstacles for any newbie, particularly being sucked into offer upon countless offer. The best thing (humble opinion) is to have a plan, use free material in this forum to help develop the plan and the product etc, implement the plan without distraction by every flashing-video-money-making-how-to product out there. Work with a good idea of how to promote affiliate products and then your own. Read, practice, learn. And focus, focus, focus.
