A Replica Site That Links To Every Page Of Real Site?

Basically im wondering here is if I create a replica site or blog with the exact same content as my real site will it hurt my SEO efforts?

I would want to make new pages for my replica site that are just like my real site that have a anchored text backlink to my real site for SEO purposes.

Basically I would use the site to gain a extra backlink and anchor text back to real site. Hope this makes sense, im just wondering if there is any ill SEO effects for a approach like this. Thanks

Basically what I want to do here is have each page of the replica blog link back (with targeted anchor text) to a page of my website for an extra "niche related" backlink.

Would this create a problem in Googles eyes seeing a blog with the exact same content linking back to a site with the exact same content?

      G`day Corey,

basically ... WTF are you thinking!?? .. lol

Why do something like this when you can find much better
pages with pagerank to post to that are RELATED to your
      site (blogs, forums, related sites)

Not only that ... won`t take long for the big G to find out
you own both sites and BOTH will vanish no doubt for such
a lame attempt at "fiddling with the SERP`s" ...

Want long term results?? Then use long term methods ...

Thanks Christopher for your honest thoughts. Basically I was not sure if this would be bad in Google's eyes.

I mean you have have a article thats the exact same link back to a page on your site thats the exact same without it hurting you in the search engines. I just thought perhaps a whole blog would be no different.

The way I understand the duplicate content penality now is it cannot really hurt your site unless the same exact content is on your site 2 times or more. So are you certain that if you have 2 exact sites that link back to each other it will hurt both sites?

This was only a idea I had and if its certainly something thats not good for the long term then I have no interest of doing it

      G`day Corey,

well it`s only my opinion ... but think about it ... you are doing it
SOLELY to fiddle with YOUR SERP`s ... nothing more ... something
Google is getting quite good at spotting which is why I mentioned
the fact it won`t take long to know YOU own both sites therefore
you did it ONLY to provide YOU benefit, noone else ... maybe I`m
wrong, I don`t think so tho ... more input from others would help
      aye ...
