Internet Marketing Proposal help

Hi everyone!

I am in the early stages of becoming a freelance Internet Marketing & Social Media Manager. I am taking some online courses about how to start this sort of business as well as how to provide the services.

And true to form I was talking about my new/upcoming venture with a website designer and now she would like me to quote and provide services for a new e-com website she is developing. I'm not nearly ready, but at the same time I want to jump right in.

So here is what I'm asking...

Can anyone here point me in the direction of some proposal examples, lists of services (with descriptions) and maybe even some pricing.

Now I know that I should be offering my services to this project without fully knowing what I am doing, but the alternative is she would hand off the website and have the client setup a facebook page and pay for Google AdWords, then sit back and study Google Analytics. Seriously. So I figure my fumbling around with his website while I'm learning will do more good. Plus I won't be charging a lot. Win, Win.

Thank you for any help!

Can someone at least suggest a better place for me to ask the question?

So you want to know what kind of services you should be offering and at what prices? And how to present this information to potential clients?

The presentation shouldn't necessarily be unique to social media management, just make a list of the services including what the service is, price, and a short description of what exactly you'll be doing, and possible benefits that the client could see.

I would also look on sites such as Elance or Freelancer and see what other freelancer's have in their profiles if they are in a similar industry as you.

As for prices, it really depends on who your clients are. If they are actual companies, you could probably charge a premium, perhaps $20-$30 an hour (now you might not actually be working many hours in a week, something to consider). If it is more of individuals or small businesses, then I would think of charging like $10-$15/hour or something equivalent.

    Best of luck!

Hmm I am not sure you are tackling this right. YOu dont appear to have done your research in the market and you are relying on us to give you answers to problems you have not researched. Well, good luck but I will recommend you spend time doing your own ground work and seek support from that space. Ignorant of the law is not an excuse in the world of business where your hard earn cash will burn into ashes for poor investment decision.

I'm currently taking some internet marketing and social media courses as well as reading a couple books on marketing businesses on the internet (mostly via social media), however I have not gotten through enough to list out relevant service offerings for clients not to mention how to write a proposal for those services.

I was just looking for someone to give me an example of a proposal for a brand new website that would list the services necessary to begin the online marketing process.

I was going to research those areas and begin providing the service to this customer while I continue my "schooling".

Other than that; I'm not completely certain I understand your reply. I thought I was clear in my request.

      Thank you.

Really helpful. Unfortunately it's those attitudes and that prevent many of the people on here from making any real money.

People are not trying to be mean. It's just that before you can offer services in any industry -- be it online or offline, you should not only possess the skills needed to thrive in said industry but have knowledge about the industry itself. A lot of people come here desperate for money and go out trying to offer various services before they even have to skills to perform the tasks necessary to get paid. Just because we make money online, it doesn't mean the basic rules of business don't still apply. In reality, the only thing that changes is the medium.

Such platforms are very competitive when it comes to offering services. The idea that have popped up in your mind might would have been too old in the industry so I'd suggest you to visit those platforms first and see what others are offering and at what price. You might be surprised with the results!
