I want to start a new website and was wondering if I could get some feedback on these niches that I'm interested in. Just a note Im looking at LONG term potential, not short term. Meaning if it takes a year or 2 before I start to see some good results, thats ok with me. 1. A video gamers website. Would cover all video games including xbox 360, wii, mmo's, anything popular it will cover it. I figure if it gets popular there are lots of video game companies who will buy advertising. 2. a Frugal website. It lists coupons, contests, giveaways, tips on frugal living and saving money. Anything if interested to a frugal person. Kind of a walmart mentality. 3. A site that talks about online business. Like tech crunch. List .com businesses and press releases, interviews. I figure theres tons of tech companies with money who would buy advertisements for the site. Any feedback on any of these niches? Ive made some sites and worked hard on them but the markets were small, so I want to go into a bigger market. |

All three of those are tough, competitive niches. Try to think of some things you can do to make your site standout. At this point in the game your are going to have to come up with a unique concept because video game news/review sites, coupon sites, and Tech Crunch like sites have been done to death.

I would go for the gamers market, especially if you are prepared to work at it over a couple of years. This is how Shoemoney started out and look where it got him!!

Online business isn't too tough. You could create a review site for Biz Opp campaigns...those are pretty good ways of monetizing quickly...or a "Flog" (fake blog) or newspaper type site. You can catch an example everywhere on facebook PPC campaigns...They don't take long to put together and can directly lead to CPA offers paying upwards of 70/ sale... Just my thought... |

Go for the gamers niche... I would personally as you will never run out of content to update but you/team will have to do a lot of work... couldn't imagine facing that...

Y'all have great ideas, thanks. Yup I agree that they are all tough saturated markets but I enjoy each one, so they will be easy to work with and if it takes a few a years to gain momentum thats cool with me. Thats another reason I picked those 3 niches, as theres always something to write about, and companies that want to get the word out there about their products. |
