So confused! Need product delivery solution.

Hi all.

I've been beating my head against the wall (so to speak) trying to find the best solution to deliver a product (course/program) to my audience. All I want to do is deliver my audios and worksheets on a weekly basis until my course is finished. Here are my issues:

1) My audience is made up of people 45 and up, with many of them 55 and up. I need something very simple for them - as in they don't need to download anything. Just click and listen from an email or web page.

2) I have no technical skills and don't want responsibility for maintaining technical aspects, or dealing with customer's tech issues, etc. I don't want to have to install scripts or anything else of that nature. In other words, I need something hosted.

3) I need the platform to be affordable. I was thinking in the $30.00 per month range, or a percentage of the sale. I'm planning to price this at $297.00, so if the percentage is more than 5% I'd probably be better off with a monthly charge.

I've looked and looked. I'm having a website created and it's nearly done. I have to solve this issue. I need more than just a shopping cart since I want to deliver this over time in a weekly drip feed.

I've considered membership site options, but I've already got a website. I've looked at coaching platforms like Jigsaw box, but I just want my audience to be able to purchase my program and run with it on their own. I don't need for them to engage with me one on one, or for me to give them questions to answer. That's more than I need and I don't want to pay for that. Jigsaw box is $67.00 a month.

I'm just starting to monetize my business so I'm looking for something affordable. Also, although I believe my program will sell, there are no guarantees so I don't want to spend alot of money on monthly fees before I know for sure.

I have an Aweber account and thought of offering my program through that, but it doesn't look like it would work the way I need it to - open the email and be able to play the audio and download the worksheets.

Thanks for any help you can offer!

Sounds interesting, Email, Audio, (just curious why not Video and Audio) also another thing to consider is mobile users, are your users mobile?

In a mobile market, you can use, SMS, (push messaging) lots of options for both mobile and desktop, the biggest thing I find when (trying to find time to do something) is time and place.

If you can figure out the time and place, most of your members want to access your product, then you can find the best format and the best delivery options.

    Hey there,

If it were me, I'd just set up a membership site and be done with it. If you're on a budget you can easily do this for free by using a couple of WordPress plugins.

Content delivery is a little more tricky as bandwidth requirements will most likely rule out low end, crappy hosting (eg. HostGator, BlueHost, etc..) A cheapish VPS will do the trick nicely though!

So.. err, if it were me..

I'd get a cheap (but reliable!) VPS for around $10 a month and install WordPress and PaidMembershipsPro (or aMember, or whatever fits with your payment/affiliate network).

    Cheers,
    Michael

"Click and listen" is going to be a host Flash setup. Like Youtube, but with audio only. You can set this up behind your own site paywall.

No tech skills means you'll have to pay somebody to make what you want. Easy to use is often harder to make. Easy to make is harder to use.

If you want to make $300 per person per month, then don't be stupid about budgeting. Don't try to get "unlimited everything" hosting for a Taco Bell budget. It's NEVER "unlimited" (lots of fine print), and you get what you pay for. Look at a quality host like Site5 and LiquidWeb if you want 99-100% uptime, with a fast site.

Making money online is often NOT easy -- especially if you lack knowledge and startup capital.

Thank you to everyone who answered me here.

kpmedia - I hear what you're saying. I don't expect to get something for nothing. I know there are costs to doing business, whether online or off. Heck, there are costs associated with going to work too!

I think I'm going to go with Jigsaw Box. I have a website. It's nearly done. The company creating the site suggested Jigsaw Box (they're a Jigsaw Box affiliate so I'm guessing that's why they recommend it, but they do use it themselves). Jigsaw box's monthly fee is a bit on the high side, but they offer more options for potential revenue streams.

I'm putting this decision to bed and going back to creating products! So glad this one's done!

Hi you can use a free service called digiresults that will allow you to bill them up to 12 monthly payments. This system can allow for the downloading of the worksheets if they under 20MB, then link it back to a page in your website to download or listen to your audio file. or if your audio file size is less than 20MB you can host your download page on the digiresults platform

Internet Trillionaire - Thanks for your reply. I've already decided to go with Jigsaw Box, but I did look at Digiresults. Digiresults looks alot like Zaxaa to me. I've already got a way to deliver digital and physical products. And, I'll be able to do that from my website too. What Jigsaw Box offered me that none of the other platforms, including Digiresults, did were to extra potential revenue streams - working with my students in groups and one on one.

At first I didn't plan to use those options. I simply wanted to drip my content for my course until it was finished. But, I realized that I might just want those other options later.

Also, I didn't see an affiliate sign up with Digiresults. That's another potential revenue stream I'd like to have.

Finally, Jigsaw Box offers the opportunity to pay for a year up front, which brings the cost down to just $41.00 per month when you do the math. I didn't know that when I posted this message.

I'm happy with my choice and moving forward!

Moodle would probably solve your problem. Moodle - the world's open source learning platform | Moodle hosting (not an affiliate link). I've been looking into it for a project I'm considering doing, and so far I like what I see. It seems very easy to set up. You can also get plug-ins that integrate Moodle and WordPress.
