Hello Eveyone! New Here and stuck!

Hello fellow Warriors,

I just want to give a quick shout out. I been researching Internet Marketing for sometime now. I read a lot about "overwhelmed" when starting out. The part where I am stuck, is where do you start? I started creating a website on Xsitepro, I figure I would have about 5 pages with rich content about the topic, place some adsense and possibly promoting a product with clickbank. I am not sure if this is the right way to be heading for someone new or should I be focusting else where. I watched videos like clickbank code and Dominating CB2, but I am not sure if these are going to get the ball rolling for me. Any advice or tips would be apperciated.

Thanks.

My recommendation would be to start with affiliate marketing, by finding a product through clickbank and promoting it through various marketing methods.
From there you should buy a domain name suitable to promote the product, and teach yoruself how to do a landing page. Dabble around with google adwords if you dare (read up heaps before you start that one).
Once you have mastered those skills, anything else you move on to will be easier.
It's just like being a baby and learning to walk - one step at a time. There is no easy way to the top. Find a guru who knows what you want to do and copy them very closely. success leaves traces... good luck

      Thanks for your replies!

Does anyone know if "Wealthy Affiliate University" is any good?

  • You are heading in the right direction (and good job on the research), but you now need to research "how" you are going to get people to visit that site. While you are building your site, research traffic generation.

    You will do fine

I know what you mean about being overwhelmed, been there, done that.

I think you are on the right track with what you are doing.

People say that creating your own product will produce greater returns, and I guess I can see their point, but there is nothing wrong with starting out promoting clickbank products and using adsense on your site. That's how I have started.

Better to start doing something than to spend time creating your own product. Get some money coming in and then look at creating your own product if you want to.

You are making a site with quality content which is good, but now you need to work out how to get people to visit your site, as no visitors = no sales

There are many ways to achieve this, as I'm sure you appreciate. Article marketing, blogging, social bookmarking etc.

The only thing I would advise a beginner to be cautious with is using PPC. People are making money from PPC I'm sure, but for a beginer it is easy to loose money this way. Again, been there, done that.

I wish you well in whatever you decide to do.

    Hi mate,

I thought I would copy some old advice of mine from a different thread. Apply these steps and you will make money

Focus on building lots of links - don't just look for the easy "automatic 1 billion links" methods, actually go out there and contact related sites webmasters and submit to specialist directories.

Write at least 30 articles and submit them to Ezine articles. Point these to your website.

Take step two, rewrite the articles and submit to GoArticles.

Create a blog at Blogger, Google Pages, MSN Live Spaces and write 3-5 articles at each. Link your latest article (this is the one above the fold) to your website from each, another to one of your Ezine articles, another to one of your GoArticles.

Create a Squidoo page, and a HubPage. Two text modules, at least 3 images and resource links to your website and articles.

Join niche specific forums and break down your previous 30 articles into sizeable 100-200 word useful posts. Post them in a human manner (not all at once). Include a link to your site in your signature.

Go to Google Blog search - find related blogs. Comment. Link back to your site, articles and Squidoo/HubPage.

Check your Analytics tracking to monitor your efforts. Look for steady increases in traffic, keyword searches, organic traffic.

When your site is earning a steady amount - move on to the next project whilst still monitoring your existing portfolio.

That should keep you going for now!

    Alex
