What to do with my skills?

Im at a sticking point. Recently rediscovered an old skillset of being on the phone. Now instead of doing it for a company I want to do it for myself. I was thinking of getting scripts created and buying leads. Just not sure what product to promote that would get me residuals. Any ideas? I want to keep it simple.

Probably you can create a webinar teaching people the importance of using the phone on your business. With the technology that is evolving I'm seeing a lot of people transitioning from traditional sales call to email marketing and chat.

Maybe you can show them the its value on a webinar then by the end of the session you can pitch a high ticket offer coaching people 1on1 on how to boost their phone skills.

By then you can call them and close the deal.

      Lurk,

I got this from Dr. Mani this morning. I already purchased the eBook but it seems to be exactly what you need right now.

I added the links in this post. They are NOT affiliate link just links to his eBook. Check it out, I think you will agree this eBook will help you. It's in PDF format.

      Hi Charles

Many people wrote to ask about my guide for
      infopreneurs, "Passion, Profit & Purpose".
      Passion, Profit & Purpose

      The most frequent questions were:
      Why should I get it?
      Is it right for me, I'm a _______ ?
Can I really earn from what I know?
      Will everything be explained?

Let me answer them for you...

      * Why should I get it?

Because "Passion, Profit & Purpose" will teach
you how to turn what you ALREADY KNOW into a
steady stream of cash - as an infopreneur.
      Passion, Profit & Purpose

      * Is it right for me?

Yes. And it doesn't matter if you're a house-
wife, heart surgeon, retiree, receptionist, a
      hobbyist or horse-lover.

You will learn how to turn your PASSION and
PURPOSE into an information business - and
build something you love, enjoy and can
      cherish.
      Passion, Profit & Purpose

      * Can I really PROFIT from my knowledge?

Of course. Thousands are doing it every day.

You don't even have to be an 'expert' - just
know enough about a topic to add value to
other people's life. You'll learn exactly
how in "Passion, Profit & Purpose".
      Passion, Profit & Purpose

      * Will your book teach me everything?

This is a step by step guide, covering 5
main areas. I assume that readers know
nothing about being an infopreneur, and
teach you all you need to know - to get
      started - quickly, confidently.

      Tana Stewart, a reader, says:

      "Zero hype, rock-solid information,
      inspiring truths, and a jaw-dropping
      opening statement easily sends this
book to the head of the class when it
comes to learning how to become an
      information entrepreneur.

From beginning to end, Dr.Mani shows
you step by step, with facts, figures,
and examples, how to turn what you know
into profits, how to create a loyal
customer base, find your niche, discover
who wants what you have, and how to
turn simple ideas into a very lucrative
      business.

This was definitely a "can't put it down"
read for me, and I'm certain it will be
the same for anyone who wants to get into
      the information business."

So, are you ready to give it a try?

If you don't like it, you can always return
it for a prompt, courteous refund!

Wow! If you like to sell on the phone the world is your oyster. Almost any company would love to have you. But it's hard to give you an intelligent answer because you never mentioned your interest, skills, knowledge or background.

I could give you a hodgepodge of suggestions to no avail because you may not know much about them (or even like to sell them) etc.

So, the main question is what would you like to sell? What's your interest, passions, goals, present knowledge or experience?

There's one affiliate program that comes to mind if you're looking for good residuals... Regal Assets. They've been in hot water lately from lawsuits but they seem to be getting their act together again. You can't beat their commission structure.

The demographics would be a good fit for phone sales, older folks like to talk on the phone and would be more receptive to hearing about what you have to offer

    Just a thought.

Create your own product. That is the best residual you could ever make.

    1. Teaching your skillset of on the phones and how you got so good at it.

    2. Selling your own product or service to the people you are calling. What else can you offer them? What else are you good at that would go with this skill perfectly?

Answer that and you have 2 lucrative winning formulas

    Good luck

I think creating your own product is a good idea. You can market it online and maybe through the phone as well, it could work.

No, talking on the phone is not a skill, it's an activity. Something teenagers, housewive's, and people who like to kill time do. When you described talking as a skillset, I assumed you meant selling? Not just ....... talking! Please don't confuse the two. Just because you like talking on the phone doesn't mean you can sell on the phone.

But even if you want to sell you have to have a direction and background knowledge of what your selling. The fact that you didn't understand my question concerns me.

Having good phone skills is an asset. But the problem is most people won't answer their phones (especially if they don't recognize the phone number).

The phone used to be good back in the 60's to 90's when everyone had one home phone (along with a predictable time that they were home).

And they even answered it back then.

The marketing has shifted in the 2000's to people reading emails instead of answering their phones.

The market will shift again from email to SMS Messages. It hasn't happened yet but eventually it will.

There are many people who used to make money with the phone who don't make money now because they failed to change along with marketing trends.

    They became obsolete.

Was in Inside Sales for many years right after College. Yellow Page Advertising, Waste Disposal services, Stocklifted Auto Parts, Credit Cards, Fund raising are just a few I was involved in.

Anymore, it is a tough business. Not so much 20 years ago.

But every year it keeps getting tougher and tougher.

A dying skill set. But it can still be profitable for a select few who master it

Why not build a website, write an eBook, charge a small amount, or give it away, and offer a free 20 minute coaching with your product at which point they know how good you are at what you do, the value of your products, and will already be partially sold as well.

Make it as easy as possible for them to buy.
