Is there still a market for (quality) PLR?

I've been toying with the idea of starting my own PLR business, but I can't figure out if this is still a viable business model. All of the ebooks and blog posts I've seen on the topic are several years old, at least.

So I thought I'd ask here if people still buy PLR. If you do, what is your preferred way to buy--individual article packs or a membership site? And if you don't buy PLR, might you be open to it if you could find PLR that actually is well-written and substantive?

I know that PLR has gotten a bad name, deservedly, because so much out there really is awful. But I'm trying to figure out if there is still a market for quality.

    Hi,

I tried it recently but I found it a lot harder to sell than a few years ago before Google banned sites with duplicate content.

Most people seem nervous about duplicate content and seem to want articles they can put straight on their site without any alterations.

Unique content therefore seems to be what people are buying now, although plr can be used in lots of ways (for auto responder material etc.).

I thought I would let you know my experience to save you a lot of time and effort.

There may be others that can give you a more positive view, but this has been my experience.

    Best Regards

Google is concerned about duplicate content within one web site - not duplicate content on different sites.

That's because most people are lazy. PLR is meant to be modified, changed, reworked, and given your own voice. People that don't take the time to make PLR their own should know that others will have exactly the same content. People that re-write PLR have unique content.

It's easy to have a positive view of PLR . . . simply re-write it or pay someone else to re-write. Problem solved!

I am a PLR freak. I love PLR. There are plenty of people like me who want to buy PLR articles, email courses, reports, you name it. I buy PLR to get ideas on what to write about, but I don't rewrite it word for word.

To write something, you need your own creativity and energy.

I appreciate hearing all of these perspectives. It does seem like the market for original content is better, though from my standpoint as a writer PLR seems more appealing.

margretk, where do you find the PLR you use? Do you use multiple providers or just one?

I gave up PLR some time back because so much of it was regurgitated stuff! If you want quality content write it yourself or outsource it. Check out "warriors for Hire here.

PLR can be a great tool if used correctly, we all have used it at one time or another, and I think it will be here a long time to come, I am interested to see what you mean by quality PLR.

I've sold many PLR products without changing a thing. It depends on the market you are in.

I believe in the law of abundance, and unlimited opportunity, so I'm sure there's a way you can make PLR work. Just have to make sure the content is high quality and not recycled boring crap:

    "How to Make Money Online"

Step 1: Purchase a domain name
Step 2: Purchase a hosting website:
Step 3: Sign up for Clickbank
    Step 4: Etc.

PLR pack can give you a totally fresh way to approach local business owners and help them see why they need your services. I've been selling PLR contents since last 6-7 years and it's my main income source as well. No matter at all.... People still buy these contents. For me, quality isn't the problem, quantity is the problem, how? Remember, few years back, I sold 10K PLR articles for $10... TODAY? .... AND TOMORROW?
