You rinse and repeat every time you make a post! Yes, you can do better with quality and focus that by being dispersed all over the place with splogs. And remember this: most of the best known bloggers in the world were nobody before their blog. The most popular blogs were not started by people who were well known beforehand. If you are passionate and knowledgeable about your subject and you know how to write, then do it.

And constantly build backlinks to your blog without ever stopping. It will get more and more readers and grow in popularity.

"Rinse and Repeat" is just about systematizing what you're doing that seems to be working. Just keep doing that over and over. For me, I don't make crappy blogs, but I don't make super premium ones either. I make mediocre but useful/informative sites that provide broad coverage of topics within a niche. Because almost all of my content is republished from elsewhere, or generated mostly dynamically and automatically, I'm able to rinse and repeat in many different niches.

Even if you don't want to do that, consider this. When you're trying to make the best possible blog that serves your market, don't think of trying to accomplish that as an AUTHOR with your blog. Try to do that as an EDITOR/PUBLISHER of your blog. Unique content is good, but COVERAGE of what's going on elsewhere in the web as regards your niche is SO MUCH EASIER.

And really, that's what almost ALL the big successful media blogs do. Hopefully that helps. Good luck!

Basically after you find a rhythm of techiniques that work well and convert then you repeat those techniques by rinsing what you have done away and starting again...thus giving you "rinse and repeat"

I understand the idea of it. But unless its automated i can't see any way to keep 100 blogs upto date. If it take you 60 minutes to make a good in depth post and you post to each blog once a week, thats 100 hours a week not including time to find what to blog about.

Rinse and repeat works. The key is to rinse and repeat only those things which are successful. If you are creating blogs, but they arent producing, you need to analyze what you are doing wrong. Then stop rinsing and repeat that.

Are you:
Doing proper keyword research?
Doing proper competitive analysis?
SEOing your articles?
Using anchor texts?
Writing in a way that makes people take action?
Targeting the right people within your niche(s)?

Fix the problems. Look for small successes. Then rinse and repeat.

Maybe you need to learn about how to produce a money-making blog first. If you get the basics down then it all becomes easier. I think if you go for a big authority blog, obviously, you would need to keep it updated frequently with fresh content. I guess the "rinse and repeat" there would be the repetition of finding keywords that work and promoting those posts?

Now, if you are going for a ton of smaller site then you obviously can't be writing and posting unique content to them. Who says they have to be blogs anyway?

I have plenty of sites that earn me money every day ($1 or $2 - sometimes even $5) and I haven't even touched them in years. These are static sites made even before blogs became the "in thing". They've not been updated with fresh content at all, but some do have some rotating content (not sure if that helps them). Anyway, the "rinse and repeat" of these is finding the keywords that will stick at the top of the Search Engines and bring in some money without having to babysit the site.

Just like with most answers to questions here, it all boils down to the keywords and your promotion of those keyword pages - whether you do it with 1 big site or 100 small sites.

Well I have tried tons of mini sites and automated things, so I guess its time to go for the 1 big site approach. I think my new plan is to build a high traffic blog and use it for a list then advertise my landing pages to the list.

Okay let me get this stright. My blog is about tech (Matt's Tech Blog) And I wrote a quick review of a keyboard I just bought. What I should have done was search for Logitech Dinovo review and just reworded someone elses review of the keyboard?

Don't take this the wrong way, but do you think it could be your promotional methods or keywords analysis that caused you not to be successful with the mini sites?

The reason I ask is because I was thinking along the same lines as you not so long ago. But, turns out that it was really that I wasn't choosing the right keywords or promoting my sites enough (I actually don't think in terms of sites anymore but in terms of keywords - doesn't matter if they are on 1 or 100 sites). If you don't have those 2 things right, a big site isn't going to work any better - or at least it didn't for me.

Of course, the other thing to consider is what suits you better - laboring over 1 site and spending all your time on it or setting up loads of them and kind of leaving them to earn or burn.

P.S. I agree with Keith on the original content thing - not necessary, but you do want to provide all the resources one would want in that particular niche.

I think I have tried every promotional method under the sun. But it could have very well been my keyboards. I thought I understood them from the PPC forums I used to be a part of and the software I was using(Can't even remember the name). I'm not that new to internet marketing just have not really made it anywhere. Me and Barry Richardson had about 40 sites together but his list was the only thing keeping that running at the time. I was working on the sites prob 60 hours a week and was maybe making 20 dollars a month. When he passed away (tragic), I gave all the sites to his widow because she was having money trouble and I quit IM for a few months. Now i'm taking another shot at IM but I never really had to start from scratch because Barry had a huge list and it would get a site running right off the bat. I also don't want to do IM about IM it kinda sucked.

Only rinse and repeat the things THAT WORK... but you must move on it while you're still feeling it. Do this in everything.

Do not treat a blog like a work at home opp. treat it like a business.

I make about $6 bucks a day in adsense off of 2 little blogs that are no bigger than 12 posts...it's all about getting the back links...and doing good SEO practices.

I made the mistake when I first started of making to many non-keyword blogs or keyword blogs that got not enough hits a day to do anything...then I freakin figured it out! LOL

Just a matter of trial and error...but mostly 1 way backlinks.

I don't do anything crazy different, maybe slightly with my own
