Where to find a Copy Editor for Kindle Book

Hello,
Could someone recommend where I could find a copy editor to go over my Kindle book, that doesn't charge gigantic super-duper fees?

    Yes fiverr is a good place to start.

    she was awesome. she does 1000 words for $5

    First decide if it's a copy editor or a proofreader you require. An editor will be considerably more expensive.

    Finding a suitable editor who can pull your book into shape in the manner you want is a trickier task, especially if your budget is tight. Try a search via the Directory of Editorial Services here: Directory of Editorial Services

      I remember coming across that site almost ten years ago and started to register. Then I read this (which is about halfway down the page in your link).

      "If you have been putting off filling in the online membership upgrade form, please try again – it will take only a couple of hours."

      So I have to pay money and spend hours completing unnecessary, meaningless paperwork? Wow, where do I send my check?

        Not sure what you mean. I was suggesting using the search function to find an editor, not signing up as a member.

      Excellent point. Also, be aware that working with an editor isn't always easy. There will be disagreements (perhaps even arguments) over various issues like style, message, and expression.

    I do a mixture of proofreading AND editing. Frank shared a link to a thread I started last year so that is certainly worth reading but you can find good people (including myself) in the Warriors for Hire section in this forum.

    What are gigantic super - duper fees, in your opinion? You could set your own budget, if you are concerned about paying too much, and list your requirements on Elance or similar websites, then wait for the people to come to you. Or try Fiverr, but make sure you read through the freelancers' reviews first, many of them may not be able to offer you anything good..
