Hi,

I bought a domain yesterday and today I receive some offers from webdesigner.
I would like to know if there is a way to have a list (email of course) of person who bought a new domain, who have a domain... and so on

Thanks

Yeah I got an email too yesterday (in my Spam Folder). I just clicked on DELETE.

This kind of business may work for unsuspecting newbies who think a fancy designer website is another short cut to success.

Sure having a professional blog or website is an asset but most people who want to get real results in IM need to focus more on 'creating' targeted website traffic and less on building websites.

I have made the most sales from 'ugly' plain Jane sites and less from sexy web design.

Yeah, I brought a new site, and built my website and the first emails I got was from marketers who wanted to offer me web design and marketing to the best search engines etc:
I just put them in the spam folder and forget about them. Unless you have heaps of money to waist on them. You can also hide your email address from the whois website. That's where they would have retrieved your email address no doubt. Hope this helps.

Well, the sale of domains is public information (unless the buyer opts for it to be private, which most don't), and I would imagine that development firms do very well working those lists. I'm sure there are data mining programs out there that automatically build lists from new WhoIs listings and stuff like that, then just spam out offers.

That's not for me, but hey...I'm sure there's a lot of money in doing it.

Google is your best friend. I believe I came across of such sites sometime ago, where you could see the list of newly registered domain.

I get those let-me-build-your-site type of email every time I do register for a new domain, but I see no reason why someone would want to use these kind of service, just my opinion.
