Okay I read a sterling post in the forum aimed at helping article marketers leverage traffic and their position in EZA. Basically my fellow warrior suggested that we re-write our articles publish them on our blogs, hubpages etc. But instead of pointing the anchor link to our homepage we should point it at our article up in EZA. Surley the point of publishing on EZA is to get traffic to my sites ... so I am wondering why I dont just point all my backlinks everywhere to my target site. Would really appreciate some views and assistance with this as I dont want to miss something. John |

Getting backlinks to your articles will accomplish 2 things: 1. It makes the link from your article to your site stronger (would you rather have a PR0 link to your site or a PR3 or PR2?). 2. It pushes your article up in SE's possibly gaining you more traffic, thus more visitors from the article to your site. Lee |

One thing I've learned for certain: backlink to your own site first, your articles second.

We all only have a limited amount of time and resources. I don't promote other peoples sites. They could change the rules just like squidoo did. EZA could decide that certain topics are no longer acceptable and delete the articles. All that work promoting their site would be wasted. Dee |

Dee ... one of my key concerns is that Eza might do something like that and in one foul swoop undo a huge amount of effort. I had considered the whole PR aspect as well Cashcow. Has anyone seen a significant improvement in results by backlinking to Eza first? |

It would actually be an interesting test to find out how much the backlinking does help. I haven't done any tests myself, but I am finding that using a link wheel or variation thereof with the "spokes" being articles at EZA, Buzzle, wordpress, squidoo, blogspot etc.... and linking to the spokes as well as to my site is having really good results (I use linkjuicer and UAW to automate this) Like I said, though, I haven't actually done any tests - maybe the sites I have had good results with would have had just as good results if I didn't link to the articles too? It's really hard to do any kind of test like this on the internet because it is not a controlled environment. I hear what you are saying Dee - I think automating the linking can make it hurt a little less. Lee |

I've just started using thelinkjuicer too, and so far so good. However they have a limit on how many backlinks you can get in total so if I use an EZA article that means I can't use one of my own sites. They have a limit on how many urls you can have as campaigns and how many links you can get a day to all our urls. If I had the time, which I don't, I'd be curious to see if promoting EZA articles does work. How would you set that kind of test up? Dee |
