what to do if g.u.r.u is in your name and domain?

haha this is hilarious. It had been so long since I visited WF, I had to do that password reset for the site enhancement.

my original username was CliffordGu ru.com (without the space between u and r)

Now that g.u.r.u. is replaced with goober, I was having a heck of a time logging in since my email is @cliffordgu ru.com (w/o space).

I gave up and created a new username w/o the ".com" and that seemed to work, although it still shows goober.

Now my IM Info-product review site, with it's premiere review of Desperate Buyers Only, is cliffordgu ru.com (w/o space, obviously) but dang if it's not a pain in the butt with my signature and name being changed to Goober!

I have to laugh though, its quite funny. I think my original username of cliffordgu ru.com is in the user directory from way back whenever.

I wonder what will happen if I try a link in my sig, will it replace the url with goober and foul it up? I'll try.

    You may want to change your screen name but I think cliffordgoober is pretty funny.

    For the sig. you'll just have to use some anchor text without goober in it.

    It is funny. When I do a link w/ anchor in my sig, the g u r u part of the link clifford g u r u.com gets replaced also and directs the click to cliffordgoober.com

    Im in the process of making a work-around

      Redirect it through bit.ly or another URL redirect?

    Maybe contact the helpdesk?
    I remember when "black hat" (one word) has been replaced with bluefart there was a member with that word in the username and after contacting the helpdesk the username was restored.

    Just FYI, there was a serious bout of gooroo bashing that ended a few weeks ago when the word substitution was implemented. The same thing was done with b.lackh.at.

    It's good to see you have a sense of humor even though you're affected. Says a lot about you.
