I've been seeing people say you need to "continuously market" your article in order to stay at the top of the serps rather than just post it and let it sit there. From what I understand, getting backlinks to your article is the way to do that (which I'm still trying to learn about). What else is involved with this continuous marketing of your article?

Hmm, no responses.....not even any views. Stupid noob question maybe? I'm trying to use the search, but just not finding much other than "backlinking". I'm assuming there's more to it, so anybody that wants to chime in would be much appreciated, thanks.

You answered your own question. You need to build backlinks. Comment on blogs, submit spun articles to other directories pointing back to your main article, etc.

Making sure the article is well SEO'd would be a good start. Then it would be search engine friendly, and therefore ranked higher. So make sure you have a keyword density of around 1-3%. Any more and they think you are spamming. Any less and they think you aren't serious about that keyword. And then just keep backlinking. -joel |
