I noticed that many threads about getting traffic and creating back links include comments about the effectiveness of creating YouTube videos.

I have never created any video myself, but it seems like it's a good way to get traffic these days.

Can you guys confirm that I'm making right conclusions and, if yes, let me know where I can read more about it.

Thanks!

Especially in the last 5 years or so, YouTube has been a major source of traffic for most marketers. The reason? YouTube videos rank very well in search engines (*cough* Google), and is an authority website. Video traffic has also been proven to convert 3x better than non-video traffic. Makes sense right? I would be more willing to buy from you seeing your product/offer/promotion in a video than just regular text ad copy. This way, i know what i am getting myself into, and feel confident doing so.

Youtube videos deliver great traffic because ranking for Google's search engine has gotten more difficult. It might be only a matter of time until Google cracks down on worthless Youtube videos though.

Instead of focusing on POACHING traffic off Youtube, focus instead on DELIVERING VALUE and CULTIVATING A COMMUNITY around your content.

Youtube can be a great way to get traffic. Create detailed descriptions for your videos and include a link to your site/blog when appropriate.

Youtube is the best source of FREE Traffic. Your videos should be creative and engaging so that you get likes and shares from your viewers. You should do the keyword research first, than carefully put the keywords in the description and title of the video. You will get amazing results if your video is found on the first page on Google.

Yes, youtube videos can be a great help. They do rank well in Google and chances are people looking for certain keyword might find your video before they even find your website.

I've noticed certain benefits mentioned, but not the most important one. Namely: Passive income. Rank a video in YT and external search engines. Passive traffic, passive income.

  • Of course YouTube is a good way to get traffic. #1) Its owned by Google and #2) Google loves ranking YT videos because again, Google owns it (refer to #1).

A little info...The YT search is the 3rd largest on the Net and one average will deliver more views to videos that the Google search will. People that use the YT search are specifically looking for videos, people using Google may or may not.

Search is NOT the way that delivers the most views to YT videos. It's being listed as "related" videos listed on the pages of other videos that delivers the most traffic.

Keywords are the main ranking criteria in YT, although they are essential for relevancy. Nowadays, the most important ranking criteria is how long someone stays on YT after watching your video. Next is how much of your video do people watch? 10% or 90% before clicking away?

In other words, YT rewards videos that people watch and that also encourage viewers to watch more videos. Makes sense.

Yes, but its not as easy as just making a youtube video and posting it. A massive amount of videos are uploaded to YouTube daily, so yours needs to stand out if you want traffic.

I've found that it certainly converts higher than other free traffic sources (slideshare, old school article marketing when it was more effective etc) but it depends almost entirely on the quality and persuasiveness of video script.

I've had videos pull in 66% of the views as clicks, of which about 75ish% became subscribers. Of those who subscribed many eventually became customers after a nice sales funnel/email sequence.

I tried again with a different video, same market, but the results flopped in comparison because i took a vastly different approach with the script. So it almost entirely depends on the quality of the video and how well you "sell" your pitch (I would call this a presell, but i wasn't always selling. )

I don't have any links since my results are over several years of youtube experience.

Yes, youtube is still incredibly strong for passive traffic to your offers/sales funnel/whatever as long as you put in the work upfront to create decent quality videos and perfect the persuasiveness of your in-video script over time.

I would concentrate on youtube as a traffic source. Using youtube for SEO and ranking sites via creating "backlinks" is a vary particular and different thing on youtube. I highly recommend you just focus on video creation without getting too over loaded with different ideas (which can too easily happen).

Today it is a good way of increase traffic. Beside the Social Media site & Forum posting, the youtube is a good way. You try to do. besides this, you should continue the others ways. Forum posting, rss, bookmarking, article submission, blog commenting & something like these. Thanks a lot.

Youtube videos is my best free source of quality targeted traffic, but it has gotten very difficult in recent times to rank videos in Google search engine. However Youtube has millions of views each day and a lot of these viewers are persons looking for a review or details about a product which they want to buy.

If you are in an evergreen niche, try selling affiliate products to your visitors. But first make sure to grab their e-mail addresses to build your list, so that you can promote products later on.

Like said earlier, youtube is one of the best sources for free traffic, but ranking your videos can be very hard in some niches. Never try to rank them through fiverr gigs promising views and likes because youtube will shut your account down faster then you can say go. Seen it happen to many people the last couple of months

I feel somewhere youtube has lost its charm. Day in and day out we see spammers uploading bulk videos with affiliate links. The content is not that useful only the SEO is focused on.

Simple put is people love watching video versus reading text. It's easier to put an emotion and feeling on something in video.

    Anyways...

You can create a power point presentation right on your desktop and upload some background music or speak.

The idea behind the video is doing your onpage and off page seo for your targeted keywords for traffic.

Let me ask you something and that is for everybody as well....

    What is your time worth?

To start a business the best advice is to set aside a budget and invest in paid traffic such as facebook, ppc, banner or my favorite solo ads.

I have gathered tens of thousands of viewers on my YouTube videos. They don't always convert well, however. The new "Cards" feature shows a lot of promise compared to the annotations method of including links.

YouTube is probably the best way to get free traffic these days IMHO. There's a lot of information in the War Room on how to rank them properly, too.

Check out the forums and blogs related to your niche and then create a video around some of the queries you can find among the users. Then share that video through your facebook page and other social media channels ,and you will see good traffic coming into your website.

But the video you create should be of value to the users and not a piece of re-hashed information.

Well, if you read anything about good old Google in the news, you'll notice that they're being investigated in the EU about giving their own properties too much advantage in search results. Youtube certainly falls into that category and I can attest that videos on Youtube rank better than any other video service and it isn't exactly even close.

Plus, Youtube is actually the 2nd largest search engine in the world (bigger than Yahoo and Bing)

I don't know about you but everytime I have a problem or I don't know how to do a thing I go over to Youtube and try to find a video about it. And guess what I find everytime the video or better the solution I was looking for.

I also produce videos almost on a daily basis and it's just great because you can provide solutions fast you can review your products or affiliate ones, you can create tutorials, sales videos, webinars actually everything you want.

I love Youtube and when used right it can be a good traffic source. If you want to learn more about video marketing just have a look at yes you guessed it right Youtube.

Yes. People search youtube almost as much as google to find solutions to their problems. I've been using youtube for over three years now and it is where I get a majority of my leads. If someone watches one of your videos and likes it enough to click the link to your site, they are a targeted lead. Go for it. Just start posting short videos. It's worth the effort.
