.com or .org ?

Hi everyone

I'm currently about to launch a review site and was looking for a name for my web site.

I was about to buy a .com name with the word the in front (e.g theBlahBlah) - blah blah is for two other words

They I found that I can get BlahBlah.org

I know that org is usually used by governments and for non-for profit organizations.

What do you guys think.

        The problem is that the .com is not available without the "the" in the front. So I really don't have a choice to grab both.

          I use .com's for my personal sites, and .org's for affiliate marketing informational sites.

          .orgs are typically considered instant authority sites in Google's eyes because they have a .org and these types of domain names can pull higher and faster in the search engine results.

            Get them both (even though they will be a little bit different) and redirect one of them to the other.

            If you only want to get one then I say get the .com

              I agree... I would get both. It can't hurt (other than a few bucks at Godaddy)... but in all honesty, it's worth it. You never know when you can use the site.

              For example, you may find that you can use one domain for PPC and search engines, while another is good for testing and tracking offline marketing experiments or ezine advertisements, etc.

                One of my .orgs went straight to the top of Google. #2 to be precise within days. All I did was set up a Wordpress blog and use the keyword as the blog name. Sick!

                  That's also because Google LOVES wordpress... the site structure is great and it's easy to crawl.

                  I've had nearly all of my wordpress sites in Google before they were even ready (i.e. I still had latin placeholder text, but Google picked it up and ranked me fairly well. Absurd!)
