Hi everybody. I come from an industry where a VERY high percentage of people "embellish" the amount of money they make & have. It got me thinking... Obviously this is just going to be based on opinions, but I'm wondering how much of the posters on this forum that claim they make good money, actually make good money? PS Sorry for being a negative Ned. |

Hi, The people who do this, are just lying to themselves. I think it's better to say the true and just be yourself. Don't try to embellish anything. There no need for that. Say the truth to your leads, if they ask. bye Hugo |

their multiple hosting bills, domain renewals for hundreds of domains, aweber, amember and other membership fees. Also how they manage to pay big commissions to their JVs, their freelancer partners, and VAs, to their designers, and programmers... And also as they do not have any regular job, and most of the time you see them spending luxury time online, on their blogs, forums, and sites...how they pay their bills and support their families!!! It really make me think! ![]() My dear friend why someone have to claim the money they are not making... BTW in the society where i am raised , we see people claiming NO MONEY when they are making actually BIG MONEY Just the opposite the situation you experiencedin your previous industry! ![]() Buddy do not let limiting beliefs and doubts stop you from making killing online... Think this way... even if their claims are not true (as you were thinking based on the past experince you have..), take them as inspirations and make real money.... but on the FLIP side, if you keep doubting the potential of real money making in this industry, it will be hard for you to make real money... as first you have to believe and then you can achieve that... I wish you start making real money soon in this business and then you will not have any more doubts regarding the other people making money online... Oh yeah forget those doctored screenshots in get-Rich sites as income proof... In this post i am referring to the real players and respected Warriors who have proved with their track record that real money can be made in IM!!! Wish you MUCH success, Mohsin Rasool

I don't think you shoul necessary buy into everything that is said on this forum but let me share a lesson I learned about being too sceptical. I am a very sceptical person so when I heard from a good friend of mine a few years ago about IM and the courses he was signing for and the unbelivable successes different people that he admired had - I felt sorry for him. I told him about my experiences with multi-level marketing schemes and how much time I had wasted going from meeting to meeting and hoping that all the success stories I heard about were true, etc. His reply was: "I have no reason not to trust these people, because they have good reputation." I thought he will eventually learn his lesson and left him alone. Then a few months later I run into him and asked how things were going etc. He said he had just quit his job and his wife was also going to quit hers because he was making enough on line. Neadless to say I asked him if he would be willing to share his secrets with me. He was happy to do it and agreed to stay with me and my family for a week. On the 2nd day of his visit I made my 1st $100. I have been hooked ever since. The fact is that good money can be made on the Internet and being too sceptical might hinder your progress. The nice thing about www is that when somebody claims he/she can teach you how to be successful you can always google the person's name or do a search here on this forum. In the money making market loosing reputation = death. Now I try to look at things like my friend does. I invest into my education. After checking what other Warriors say about a person I pay him/her to teach me and it always pays back very soon. |

Some people lie regardless - and they lie EVERYWHERE. Just listen carefully to what you are being told. My mother taught me a lesson about "seeing the truth." You have to stop listening to people's words and start listening to their actions. Hope this helps - js |

Well, and this is just my opinion, but I think it's much more valuable to recognize when you're being marketed to than to know how much money someone else makes. Personally I don't care how much money someone else makes. If someone makes a big deal out of it, I tend to disregard the message and look for the motive. As Jon posted above, it's usually more revealing when you observe actions more closely than words. Best wishes. |

I'm curious to know why it's important to even care how much money someone else is making? It's never been important to me. I come here when I find myself lacking in motivation, and to share a few ideas with other warriors. Sometimes it takes a few days of reading to get re-motivated, and other times I can read one post and I'm back off to the races. But mostly I come here to learn... I've learned things here from people who are new - just getting started in IM, people who have only been doing IM for a few months, and from the long time warriors. As for post counts...I've got 119 posts as of this post, so post counts are meaningless. |

When I was new to this forum I asked people here to give inspiration to newbies by telling how much they earned that day (a single day). I was lucky enough to get the reply of a really, really senior warrior. And in that day he earned what could make my life comfortable in years.. I checked him out and found out that not only is he legit..He's actually well known.. Now, if you want to have a rough estimate of how much really, really advanced warriors are making then a good example will be to check out the news and look for the names of those warriors who stand out. And these bunch are just the example..A lot aren't even talking.. Cheers! oMar |

That's not to say everyone embellishes and in reality we'll never truly know. I'm only sharing my opinion based on people I've met, worked with, worked for, and Joint Ventured with in the past decade. It's pretty amazing what people will actually tell you after a few martinis. Some of the stuff I've heard coming out of people's mouths after seminars have literally made my jaw hit the floor. For some people, it's all about the money and nothing but the money. On the flip side to that, there are still plenty of good people around who don't need to embellish because for them it's more than just about making a buck. Lastly, posts counts do not mean anything. Post counts only mean one thing: the number of posts a person made, it has nothing to do with the quality of their posts, how much money they make, or if they're even a member in good standing. A lot of people are not doing that well, some people are making a living, and a few people are killin' it and getting rich. Same as everywhere else. If you're doubting that people are making money, you're only fooling yourself, though. If you have a site with 1,000 (or 10,000) visitors a day and you can't figure out how to make money on it, you're just stupid. |

There are a lot of "fake it 'til you make it" people on this business. That's why you have so many people on here selling "Make $100,000/week Online" products one day, only to be here a few days later begging for money to help stop foreclosure, pay medical bills, etc. The majority of people here, just like the majority of people who buy IM products, are newbies. With that said, there are a lot of people making a really good living in this business. How can you tell the difference? Success leaves footprints...and you don't have to tell everybody about them. |

I know some people are making a lot of money online. Others are lying. Don't believe everything you read, but know that the opportunity is there and it IS possible to earn a very good living online. |

How much anyone else makes has no bearing whatsoever on what you may or may not make. If you're willing to do the work, put in the time, and focus you may earn an adequate part-time income or you may be purchasing your Gulf Stream. In almost every case you determine the level of your income. Your world is filled with naysayers. You will be constantly questioned in regard to the validity of your chosen profession if you are an IMer. Even once you start earning many will question the sustainability of your income. Of course they are usually the same people that questioned generating any income whatsoever via IM. You do not have to create your own negative energy, there will be more than enough created by those around you. Self created negativity is frequently someone attempting to justify quitting to themselves. If this is you, just man-up and quit. Quit because it is too hard. Quit because you think it is bull****. Quit because it's Friday. Quit just because... Or you could realize that even if everyone you ever heard mention their income level lied, it has no real impact on you. It is irrelevant. Do what you do. Generate your own income. Then be the first to tell the truth about your Mega Yacht. Gene |

I think people are attracted to big money makers. They like to attach themselves to the people who have already done what they are desperate to do. This is why the headlines with the biggest sums of money attract the most attention and unfortunately for many in their desperation to succeed, emotions blind them and rational thinking just throws itself under a train. They are seduced by the figures and Internet Marketers take advantage of it. This is why everybody who wants attention will claim to be making HUGE sums of money, whether it's true or not.

I think IM is somewhat overhyped in every aspect and many people cash in on the curiosity and greed of others. There are seven and eight figure earners for sure but there are more fakers than the real earners. you shouldn't go after the hype.it's the basics which are going to make you succeed afterall and not those fancy products claiming to earn you $100,000 in one month. |

Thanks for the input everyone. I'm not coming from a discouraged & broken down perspective. It's the opposite for me. I'm just curious to see what people think. Because this forum to a newbie can make it seem that it is extremely easy to make decent money online. PS I guess the thread title was a little misleading. It was supposed to be rhetorical. That's why I wrote "we" instead of "you". Plus, I didnt want to ask "how many people in this forum are completely full of BS in regards to the amounts of money they make online". |

I think a lot of people do lie. They are trying to make people more comfortable in their business by saying they make a lot of money, hoping people will buy what they have.

The biggest reason why I think people are skeptical is because they haven't yet wrapped their heads around the enormous size of the online marketplace. They are still thinking "local community" and wonder why any of them would buy something online. When in fact the true marketplace online is Global... As soon as you can wrap your mind around the fact you are connecting with the entire free world then the doubts negative mindset are lifted. Mike Hill |

Usually, the ones who spend the most time talking about how much money they have...actually have the least. But yes, there are lots of people here making "good money". And "good money" has a different meaning to each individual. Regardless, plenty of people here (and elsewhere) are doing it. Most are just too busy and/or too humble to talk much about it. |

The topic of how much money are we making is a little subjective. Sure, someone might have an awesome $20,000 day but how often do they has those successful days? Once maybe twice a year? In the meantime, how much is their debt not including their mortgage $100,000? Money is a huge help in this cruel world but the true secret to success is living well. : ) |

If you get into how much money someone else is making and get a complex, it will drive negativity into you. Regardless, take inspiration, positiveness from each post you see here. Get motivated, learn from others mistakes that they are sharing about and above all, keep focused on your numbers.
