If it's a serious question...

Then you should really invest in a professional reputable experienced person/firm that would already know how to invest those funds for maximum R.O.I. based on your personality and willingness to take risks.

Said firm would most likely not visit this forum and post a million dollar investment question right in between a

"I just made my first dollar online" thread, and a "I made $50 dollars this month what should it do with it" thread.

However, If this is just a hypothetical "what would you do if you had..." question,

Except for the rental property and vending machine,the other options discussed will need your active involvement. So cannot actually term this as passive income. Also i second arnold's question. Is this an hypothetical question?..

I'll throw in a less silly suggestion: student rental accommodation. Seriously. If you live in a place like the UK, you can buy up what we call terraced houses and rent each room out on a per student basis. Another country? Buy a big house. You make way more than renting it as a single property. Look into it. If you go this route, as with any business, do your research. Tip: interview your tennents.

If you actually had $10K to invest nevermind 1Mill i would consider giving a serious answer but since you don't (Maybe your Uncle does) the best i can do is to say "STOP DREAMING" and concentrate on that rather generous commission your Uncle has offered you...

PS. Anyone who actually had that kind of money would be a fool to ask for serious investment advice on a forum....

You got it. My uncle is looking to diversify (as he is a solo hard-working architect) and we're just throwing ideas around. I'm not looking for answers, just other ideas.

As for the commission my uncle offers, I'm trying pretty hard, but since I'm so green at marketing, I'd rather have an "experienced" member send a client my way and I'd split the commission with him/her. That's me making passive income.

He is a passive income idea, that I used and still using but the opportunity to replicate may have passed.

1 2007 invested in Chinese shares when the UK pound = 15 RM
2 2015 Chinese shares up 400%
3 2015 UK pound = 9 RM (Which means that when I cash in Chinese RM in UK pounds I gain 40% on Currency appreciation)

So if you had invested £200,000 you would have aprox made £1 Mil passively

You may be able to replicate this over a longer time frame in the future say maybe 10- 15 years
